I can see the point that is being made about such an event not affecting the entire planet, which it won’t, immediately at least. However, given I
am no expert on this, but could it not travel along the earth's magnetosphere as it does every day? Thereby at least traveling further around into
the dark side?
However, also as a poster said above me it would take years to recover, given that some equipment survives, but what about those with no power, water
or food? What will their reaction to somewhere with power be? If there is 1 source of power in an entire state, or nation everyone aware of it would
flock to attempt to get power or other necessities. This will be the same with small scale power generators too, if you have a wind turbine in your
back yard, everyone from miles around will want a piece of it. Ultimately given our nature, it will be destroyed one way or another.
But take this scenario without the factor of chance and probability, what would happen if one day there was no power, for whatever reason. We would
survive it is certain but our numbers would be "trimmed" to something more sustainable. Get ready for >90% loss in human populations worldwide.
