If The Bible tells us that man was created in God's image, and the theory of evolution is being more and more widely accepted, then does that mean that God evolved as well? Or more exactly, that God is the end result of human evolution?

Wouldn't that mean that God is a result of humanity, and that one day humans are destined to evolve into Gods? Throughout the Bible we are referred to as "his children", insinuating that we are in an early stage of development, be that mentally, physically, spiritually, or all of the above. Could the end result be a transcendence to a metaphysical state and the ability to create worlds?

I think you would do yourself a great service not to take the bible too literally.
You're talking about a book that has been censored, rewritten, translated with errors etc.
As for god being "ex-human" who knows, as I stated the bible has been censored, rewritten, and translated with errors.
There are supposedly even entire books of the bible that we're not allowed to see.
We could be (and probably are) missing huge chunks of information that may completely change your perception.

My personal opinion (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this) is that the being(s) that created us, are not actually god. I wish I could find the source, but I'v read that when we finally mapped the human genome, remnant pieces of DNA were found that point towards our genetic manipulation long ago.
When we splice the DNA of a mouse in a lab for example, it's never a perfect splice, and the evidence that we had spliced those genes is clearly visible.

Would "God" need to manipulate our DNA if he created us from scratch?
Or is it more likely that we were indeed spliced together by someone else?
And wouldn't that mean that God made them too?
Is it possible that we were "made in God's image" by other beings who were also "made in God's image?"

Good post though
it makes you wonder doesn't it?
I think this is one of those subjects that every time you answer a question, it will raise two or three more questions.

It's good we ask these impossible to prove questions and speculate with an open mind, I think it only improves our total understanding. But really, our imagination is endless.

"If" is the middle word in life 'If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, if you can trust yourself when all men doubt you'..." – I mean, I'm no, I can't – I'm a little man, I'm a little man, he's, he's a great man. I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across floors of silent seas – I mean –... - Photojournalist - "Apocalypse Now."
