Did any one see a fireball north of Toronto on last Saturday night.
Was very low in sky, usual, around 10:30pm.
Wonder if this was space junk falling back to earth.

It may have been part of the annual leonoid meteor shower.
They usually pass by around this time and have a nickname of halloween fireballs, I think.

I was really hoping this, it was really bright and a low angle, but I think the debris came down on the 3rd.
Tragetory of space station debris

Maybe this was it, just the angle was so low, really unusual

It could well have been a Taurid. This is when they were peaking.

The Leonids are not active at the start of November, but they have become active over the past couple of days. They will peak in a week, and it's probably going to be a good year for them!

I'll have a post on them in the next few days over on the Space Exploration forum.

Edit to add - The space station debris came down where there was little chance of anyone seeing it, so it was not that, although little bits of junk continually fall from the sky. A small screw can cause a killer fireball!
