The scripture in the bible that you are referring to is Psalms 82:6 "I have said that ye are gods and all of you are children of the most High."

Truly, I agree that man is god, but it isn't taught that way in christianity.

Psalm 82:6-7

"I said, 'You are "gods";
you are all sons of the Most High.'
But you will die like mere men;
you will fall like every other ruler."

This Psalm calls the rulers and judges of Israel Gods and sons of the Most High, not all of humanity. They were called Gods because they represented God in executing judgement.

The law is done. In his defense against jews that were fit to stone him Jesus said:

John 10:

32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33 The Jews answered him, saying, For good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man makest thyself God.

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said Ye are Gods?

35 If he called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world Thou blasphemest because I said I am the Son of God?

I don't believe that the psalms verse applied only to Judges. Or that "mighty" means judges.

Psalm 82

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty he judgeth among the gods

2 How long will ye judge unjustly and accept persons of the wicked

3 Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy

4 Deliver the poor and rid them out of the hand of the wicked

5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk in darkness and all the foundations of the earth are out of course

6 I have said Ye are gods and all of you are the children of the most High

7 But, ye shall die like men and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise O God and judge all earth for thou shall inherit all nations.

Since God is our only judge and he judges among the gods...then man is god in this scripture. Even if it is geared toward judges God has no respect for person. To call anyone god that isn't would have been blasphemy under the law. If you have scripture to back up what you say--judges called gods--or even mighty--then post it.

Still it is up to your interpretation.

the NOI indeed does still preach hate. I see it all the time when one of its members are
interviewed on a news program.

helping in inner city is great, but if hate truly exist in them then the works merrit nothing to the soul.

even Jesus says.

" even evil men love their own, so do not be like the hypocrites and love everybody even your enemies"

not the exact qoute, but its what he teaches through his whole life.

and what would it take to love white people, the man?

being humble.

there is no man. the man hates me too. there is evil and good, and these come in all colors.

' black was made for glory '

so them am i a peice of white trash who was made for the gutter?

why don't you get it?

[just] men were made for glory, not a specific race.

unbelievable.

No, not NOI friends, Muslim friends. Their were Sunni, as a matter of fact.
Sorry for the confusion.

Good analysis. Islam (in Africa primarily) being the 'black mans' religion and Christianity being the 'white mans' religion. Somewhat accurate.

Keep in mind, African muslims are militant to a high degree - and as the other 'muslims' they seek to eradicate all other religions that stand in their ways - especially christianity. Seems to me, the Koran is a misfit's bible - unscriptural. It promotes killing, and killing if people do not convert to Islam. Well, come kill me, I'm not converting!

Christianity, if you look at it and all the religions of the world, makes the most 'sense' - since I don't see Jesus commanding his followers to kill people who wont believe in Christ, ya know. The big dispute with 'islam' began in the tents of Abraham a long time ago, and with a cramping wrist (i've been typing for 5 hours, a report) I cant go into detail right now.

As long as you are in America, you should call yourself American... and not hyphenate your 'status' - example, my grandmother was german, but, I do not call myself German-American. I am American. I find it silly really, and unwarranted.

For most militant black africans, islam promises power, wealth and the ability to conquer - nothing more. Hence, why most radical black muslims, in Africa and the US, join 'islam' - it's more or less another 'gang' in my eyes (shrug).

Ummm, show me where the Qur'an promotes killing anyone who refuses to convert to Islam.

And I hardly think the Nation of Islam is a mere gang as you put it. I don't know that many organizations that has rehabilated millions of black men from drugs, alcoholism and have turned them into successful businessmen and honorable husband's and fathers. Only the Nation of Islam has done that.

That's some of the stoopidest nonsense I've ever heard.

I wish people would pay attention before they run their traps:

To those who may compare the N.O.I. with the KKK; that's just foolishness. Even if the N.O.I. does teach "hate" it's nowhere near the degree of what the KKK teaches.

And those who take all the teachings of the N.O.I. literally; that would be like taking the Hadith literally, or looking at a Masonic symbol and saying: "this is what it means" without having learned anything about it. This is explained in the "Black FreeMasonary" thread in the Secret Society section. The Qur'an wasn't meant to be totally literal either. Ask the Sufis.

And to "Truth":

Please don't run up on us with that "Christianity is peaceful and Islam(N.O.I. or otherwise) is racist or violent" type nonsense. Christianity probably has a more violent history than every other religion combined(save Judaism).

Not to mention all your other uninformed statements that I don't feel like addressing right now.

Islam is peaceful. Muslims cannot make someone else convert their religion if they don't want to. If you have a neighbor that is Christian, you must treat them with the same respect of a Muslim. You cannot plot to kill someone just because they aren't Muslim. They have their own right to believe in what they want and the Quran says that.

And you are NOT allowed to go killing innocent people and saying that its okay. The only justified reason to kill someone is on the battlefield. And even then, if they ask for mercy you MUST give it to them. You are not allowed to kill them. In fact, you become entitled to feed them, clothed them, and take care of their family. I should know, because i'm from Afghanistan and i'm a Sunni Muslim.

Its stupid and wrong what Osama Bin Laden did (and he calls himself a Muslim). Those are innocent people that are getting hurt, and that is not allowed. You can never use innocent lives in a Holy War, never. Rather than fighting, we should make peace and understanding.

Differences aren't there, they are made

Salaam Aliekum all,

Staying on topic.
Its unfortunate that the NOI has people thinking that Islam is a black mans religion.
But unfortunatly for them, when they go on Hajj, they will get a very differant outcome of Islam, there are heaps of white people that go on Hajj, infact all differant types of people.
Just like what happend to Malcolm X, he couldnt believe he was Praying, drinking, eating and sleeping next to white people!!
The fact of the matter is, is that the NOI to me is preaching another religion all together.
Aliju Muhammad spread out heaps of lies about Islam, if im wrong please correct me, but from what i learnt he said that he was the Porphet Muhammad(pbuh) resurected???
Or that he was some kind of porphet??
This is competly wrog in Islam.

Please, if you want to learn about Islam, pick up a Qur'an and read, read, read!!

Salaam

As I recall, the Nation of Islam was started by Elijah Muhammed, as a way of providing family structure to the "Black Community" IN THE USA. (I am Black, but not Muslim.)
The Muslims in the Middle East were Muslims "first"....and not artificially. No one started it as a social remedy to problems. They only followed Muhammed and his teachings.
The Nation of Islam preaches SEPARATION from WHITE PEOPLE.

Maybe the NOI and KKK can get together, chip in for 2 islands and go live on them. They can call their islands...BLACK MANS PARADISE and MANIFEST DESTINY ISLAND.

Before they go though they should give me all their stinkin' white man slavery dollars and their jew controlled green paper of the devil...

Well i used to think Islam was religion for black people. But from watching TV plus internet research, a lot of white people are muslims and are turning to Islam aswell. I think Islam is wrongly being labelled by the media and the Koran is being misquoted too.

You apparently have not visited the southern US states where Baptists rule. I read that 90% of all Black people involved in Christianity are Baptists - I don't know if that number is true or not. You can probably find numbers in US census information.

I found a pie chart graph at this link showing that Baptists account for 45 percent of all African Americans who practice Christianity:
