ok, so I admit it, I was wrong.

I was avidly reading all of the conspiracy theories, yes the GOP would win due to rigged elections, it would be a McCain victory, Martial law, NWO etc etc.
I was convinced, and while not upset by the result, clearly all my belief in the theories has been shaken to it core.

The population voted, it was ok and turned out fairly.

Now I am wondering, if these theories were wrong, what else is wrong. Maybe aliens do not really exist, there is no world wide cover up or secret government. All of a sudden the world seems a lonelier place.

Someone help me out here. ATS members I need help!

I agree, I was expecting the same thing. Don't worry, though, you can stay quite secure in your paranoia.

Personally, I'm figuring that this is just a temporary measure. Obama will be allowed to take office, but the neocons and corporatists will block him at every turn (they're openly discussing this on places like Free Republic). He won't be able to accomplish much, and everything bad from the past 8 years will be stuck on him. somehow. I'm sure Fox News is spinning up already. The two-week memory of the average voter will expire, and the Right will win the election in 2012.

Voila, bad memories from the last administration wiped, status quo restored, more entrenched than ever. Why control people with riot batons when you can do it with a TV camera?

Bah, don't jump to conclusions so fast...

There are Voting irregularities in several states, favoring the GOP congressional candidates... Alaska is the huge one right now.

They'll be hashing out the congressional races for another month or so.

As far as a conspiracy as to a rigged national election? Well, even though I voted Obama, It wouldn't shock me too much to find out about voting irregularities there...

Besides, conspiracy theories are often wrong... If you go by this site for example, nothing happens without puppet masters pulling the strings... you could speculate that the PTB wanted obama to be pres...

Don't lose faith in the powers to manipulate the masses...

c'mon.. seriously? i thought it was obvious that obama was gonna win... however i do have a theory of my own.

did george bush not sign a bill without asking the public or congress which allows in the event of a crysis (namely a presidential assassination) for the usa to declare martial law.

stay with me on this as i AM an obama supporter... now the entire black and ethnic populations are behind obama too right? how do you think the public will react if (and i really hope it never does) he became another JFK???

there would be some serious unrest and maybe some demonstrations.. which could get ugly.. this in turn could be a "crysis" and if the military and viper squads were to start oppressing these demonstrations then it would just get uglier giving them the grounds to declare martial law and arrest 1000's of people.

i tend not to believe everything i read .. but have studied the elite for many years now (and i was bang on the money about 911 on the very day it happened without having to read all of the theories thereafter) as ive witnessed first hand many controlled demolitions.. very obvious indeed.

anyhoo... i guess my point is... read all you can.. but dont count on anyone else to tell what IS GOING TO HAPPEN and get too far into it.. you'll just drive your self nuts!

take it easy guys and keep watching the sky!!!

What is the best way to guarantee yourself a win? Play both sides.

There is no real difference between the republicans and democrats. They just present the same ideas in different way to make it look like it. Anyone who doesn't go along with that is marginalized, people like Ron Paul, Kucinich etc.

For every issue, there are 2 questions, not just 1. The first question is kept silent, and that is - who should control the issue. And the answer between both parties is always them, not you. All they really want in the end is as much control over your life as possible.

The 2 parties just provide an illusion of choice. McCain was one of the weakest opponents and Palin was a pathetic joke.

Most surprising was people pretended McCain had a chance. He's GWB 2, someone who has less than 30% approval rating. If the GOP had actually cared, they would have nominated the person that had actual support and could grab democrats as well - Ron Paul. But since he doesn't go along, they would rather Obama win.

Thats the truth of it.

Didn't have time to sign up, anyway I wanted to comment on this. Was Obama ever a part of Skulls & Bones or any other secret society? If not, and the election was real, maybe he was ALLOWED to win for some reason. All I know is, people are jumping on the Obama band wagon left and right. I didn't vote because it felt like I was picking between the lesser of two evils. Anyone see the newest South Park episode about Obama winning? Tons of characters in the show were just jumping around in the streets acting like fools saying "Change, Woo!" and I feel like thats how everyone around me is acting. Seems as if people are just jumping for joy over a word, a word from someone that I don't trust, I just get a bad feeling about him.

The only thing that you were wrong about, is the candidate that was actually associated with the NWO. It wasn't McCain. He was just a backup plan, just in case Obama didn't get elected. Obama's victory has been a long time in the making. He was supposed to be elected, to bring about a radical change and shift in consciousness and perception as a whole. To get people ready for what real change is to come. He makes people feel as though they can trust him and relate to him on a human and personal level. He's a very skilled, & crafty socialist manipulator who promises a false sense of hope and security. Also, the thing about it is, that this change will not be beneficial for the people, but, only for the elite. People who can sway the masses and affect them on such a grand scale are often the most dangerous. Look at Hitler. He will make people believe that this change is good, and, though the economy is failing, everything will be alright, even when people's gut instincts tells them it's not. There might even be another depression. If they decide to take it that far. They have to make people believe that they can't live without the government, and the new order of things. They have to make people solely reliant and dependent on them for everything, so, they can obtain complete and total control on a global scale. Will be a slow process, but, will inevitably happen in the year's to come. The North American Union will be next. Which means no more borders between us, Canada, and Mexico. Everyone will be required to switch to a national I.D. Illegal immigration will no longer be a problem, and cheap labor will be more readily available. Instead of moving companies and labor to other countries, why not make them come to us? Or better, yet, form a one world government, with one globally accepted form of currency? Obama is the face of the New Law. He is being used to try and bring the nations together and unify it all. History in the making, and with good reason and malicious intent. His chief of staff is the son of a member of a well known terrorist organization. You don't think that happened by coincidence do you? There is way more I could share, but, I don't have to try and convince you or anyone else. Time will do that.

I have heard a lot of people express relief that we appear to have had a largely clean election this time and I think it's because we have become educated about all the tricks used to subvert the vote the GOP has used in the previous two Presidential elections. Personally I am very relieved to have Obama elected and Palin as far away from national government as possible. We really dodged a bullet there.

A lot of conspiracy theories are wrong but not all.

I got to wonder if all the conspiracy theories on the web are not a sort of disinfo flack meant to distract the curious minded from investigation the real conspiracies such as how governments, money and religion exploit the lives of the common people.

The majority of the people that post here are aware that there are things going on behind the scenes, that cause the things that are happening..... We are being fed misinformation that is being thrown at us in very believable ways, from sources that we've been conditioned to believe..... Those of us that question everything, and try to make sense of what is going on, are bound to buy into some of the lies, there are so many of them, and making you unsure about your perceptions is one way that they can direct you away from questioning and finding answers.... There are important issues and decisions being made years in advance that will affect the masses, as there has been, since rich and powerful people banded together to enslave us, rather than fight each other. .... If you feel that there is a lot of misinformation on ATS you are not alone. A great deal of it is from people that refuse to look at all angles and sides of issues, stories, and opinions other than what they want to believe, and the others that provide them with what they want to hear are the ones that are motivated to carry out

This is very true, good comment. The earth has been around for 4.5 billion years, the universe even longer, we are insignificant in the real big scheme of things. Still, is important to me and all of us who are sharing this period of time and space together I suppose.

There is a theory that Obama can't officially become president. His place of birth is under question. The original birth certificate is not being given as evidence - only a new copy from Hawaii. If he was actually born in Kenya, and not in Hawaii he would not be eligible to be president. The whole situation is still under investigation. My question is what would happen if he wasn't born in the US - who becomes president?
