The body of a dead animal thought to be that of a Chupacabras has been found and filmed in Nicaragua.

Specialists described the animal as an uncommon species after a careful examination of its skeleton. It presents yellow hair on its short tail, large eye-sockets, soft skin like that of a bat, large claws and fangs, and a crest on its main vertebrae. Could this be the Chupacabras? A team of biologists and veterinarians from Leon must now answer the question. The skeleton of the animal that quenched its thirst with the blood of sheep on the San Lorenzo farm, owned by Jorge Luis Talavera and located at Km. 154 of Malpaisillo,Nicaragua, was found in the early morning hours of Monday (28/8/2000) some 80 meters away from the paddock where it procured its victims. "The creature could be a hybrid of several species, created in a laboratory by means of genetic engineering," noted Giocconda Chevez, Malpaisillo's veterinarian.
Controversy Rages Over Alleged Body of Chupacabra Found in Nicaragua

Personally, much as I would like this to be a real Chupacabra, it's probably just a dead dog. Apart from the crest on the vertebrae (which could be a genetic anomaly, like the people who have vestigial tails), the rest of the description seems like the decomposing corpse of a dog.

The shape of the muzzel (if a dog) also appears a bit oddly shapen. Other than that, I would say it is more likely a dog, or other well known animal, than a chupa.

my money's more on a dog like animal, like a coyote or something, as it just seems a little out to be a dog. And also wouldn't the numerous scientists and vetinarians have noticed if it was something as mundane a s adog?

Maybe it died of old age? Are they immortal or something because no one finds remains of the ones that dies naturally.... or do they?

In my opinion, the skull looks a little like somekind of a lizard.

Other than that....The rest of the body looks like that of an dog.

BF.

Sorry, NDG -- I hope you didn't fall for that one. It's a fake. The material (if oyou look closely) of the face is ceramic.

I'm betting it's a mutt. It's definitely a dog though, look a the teeth. I doubt a Chupacabra would have teeth exactly like a dog's.

Kind of small teeth for a chupacabra, ya think?

a Chupacabra would probably have a straw like device to suck from not a mouth for biting cause then the mutilations would be messy (which they are not).
