You have it in your mind that the state is all powerful. Unbeatable. Funny thing but quite a few contemporaries of our founding fathers thought the same about the British military. The British were arguably one of the premier fighting forces of that era.

In the spirit of debate (and only in the spirit of debate):

Point 1: More than a few resistance groups have used fire against armor sucessfully. Video on Utube shows heavy battle tanks being destroyed by IEDs.

Point 2: All the body armor in the world will not stop the killing effects of explosive blast effect.

Point 3: A well trained trooper in a 20 million dollar weapon is an awesome spectacle of firepower. On the other side of the coin, a dead soldier cannot climb into the cockpit and operate a 20 million dollar machine.

Point 4: The principle of cutting-the-head-from-the-snake. If the political leadership is removed from command, will the military continue a war against their fellow citizens?

We Texans love y'all, but we'll have to take action when Obama becomes president. We'll miss you too.

Texas has given all those complainers plenty of time to get used to the results. After seeing the whiners along the campaign route, the folks from Texas are considering taking matters into our hands.

Here is our solution:

#1: Elect Barak Obama President of the United States.(All 49 states.)

#2: Rick Perry becomes the President of the Republic Of Texas.

So what does Texas have to do to survive as a Republic?

1. NASA is just south of Houston, Texas.(We will control the space industry.)

2. We refine over 85% of the gasoline in the United States.

3. Defense Industry.(We have over 65% of it) The term "Don’t mess with Texas," will take on a whole new meaning.

4. Oil - we can supply all the oil that the Republic of Texas will need for the next 300 years. Yankee states? Sorry about that.

5. Natural Gas - Again we have all we need and it's too bad about those northern states. Barack Obama will figure a way to keep them warm....

6. Computer Industry - we currently lead the nation in producing computer chips and communications: Small places like Texas Instruments, Dell Computer, EDS, Raytheon, National Semiconductor, Motorola, Intel, AMD, Atmel, Applied Materials, Ball Semiconductor, Dallas Semiconductor, Delphi, Nortel, Alcatel, Etc, Etc. The list goes on and on.

7. Health Centers - We have the largest research centers for Cancer research, the best burn centers and the top trauma units in the world and other large health planning centers.

8. We have enough colleges to keep us going: UT Texas, A&M, Texas Tech, Rice, SMU, University of Houston, Baylor, UNT, Texas Women's University, Ivy grows better in the south anyway

9. We have a ready supply of workers.(Just open the border when we need some)

10. We have control of the paper industry, plastics, insurance, etc.

11. In case of a foreign invasion, we have the Texas National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard. We don't have an army but since everybody down here has at least six rifles and a pile of ammo, we can raise an army in 24 hours if we need it. If the situation really gets bad, we can always call Department of Public Safety and ask them to send over a couple Texas Rangers.

12. We are totally self sufficient in beef, poultry, hogs and several types of grain, fruit and vegetables and lets not forget seafood from the gulf. And everybody down here knows how to cook them so that they taste good. Don't need any food.

This just names a few of the items that will keep the Republic Of Texas in good shape. There isn't a thing out there that we need and don't have.

Now to the rest of the United States under President Obama: Since you won't have the refineries to get gas for your cars, only Mr. Obama will be able to drive around in his 9 mile per gallon SUV. The rest of the United States will have to walk or ride bikes.

You won't have any TV as the space center in Houston will cut off your communications. You won't have any natural gas to heat your homes but since Mr. Obama has predicted global warming, you will not need the gas.

Obama will have a very short honeymoon with the AA side of his party if he declared martial law because poor ethnic communities will the first and hardest hit of any declaration of martial law.

I hear a lot of talk about Americans with guns but......

Unless you start to organise yourselves TOGETHER you don't stand a chance.

Talk about the right to bear arms and getting armed and such is poinless in my opinion.

You will be up against The Police, the Homeland Security, the National guard etc and they are organised groups of trained people who are there to do a job.

I feel a catch 22 situation here. You start a group....you're a terrorist. You're on your own, you don't have a chance.

Get a passport and get out while you can!

If you guys are at all interested in joining a militia, I found this site that lists a bunch of militias in different states. I already sent an email to a few in my area to see what they're about and if they actually take action and not just have guns and opinions. lol.

having a local militia is what this country is all about. we are about policing our own government, and being able to forcibly defend ourselves, or nation, and our sovereignty if necessary.

anyone apposing local militias will be the helpless "extra weight" that will yearn for their protection in a time of crisis.

its easy to be anti-gun until you need one to protect your family.


or perhaps the anti-gun carebears will just say "please dont kill me and my family. we dont believe in violence." maybe that will stop them from being shot. i've heard that chanting "give peace a chance" can stop a bullet in mid flight.

I would like to add something interesting to this little conversation...

First off, I'm just finishing listening to the whole Congressional Hearing, and it's one of the more interesting ones that I've heard. This was undertaken in June 1995.

The REALLY interesting bit came when I started looking up the guys in the militia.

I think I found something recent on him and his wife. If someone could help me substantiate this, it would be helpful.

I believe that Norman Olson and his wife, Yvonne, have gone missing, and are presumed dead, and have been for the past 4 years. See for yourself. I haven't gone any further with any of the other members present at that hearing though.

I'm kind of anxious now at what I'm going to find... Anyone got anything else that's interesting?

Militias are a great idea. My idea for what you do when you lose your job and your bank forecloses your house as has happened to so many of us these past 3 months. You sell everything you own and buy the best damn camping gear you can afford and seeds and guns and ammunition. you team up with as many other homeless jobless people as you can find and you go out into the woods and start a farm. Then all you gotta do is be a farmer/militiaman and provide food and freedom from tyranny, the two most essential nutrients for any red blooded American.

This could work in an urban area too, just squat in buildings and farm in the yards or anywhere you can find a patch of dirt.

The problem is that 'they' own everything and can pay to send riot police to break up your new community. Which is why violence is inevitable. but if you can take out the first wave at least you'll have some kevlar and riot shields to make a stand with for the next wave and the tanks. Another thing to remember is that no matter how superior the arms and armor of your oppressors, they are still flesh and blood and are vulnerable to a wide array of things from fire to booby traps. Really though, what you want is to convince these enforcers to serve and protect the people instead of the money power who pay their salaries. keep in mind they are people just like you and many of them will be sympathetic to your plight.

Civilized men have no reason to act civil with those whom they consider inferior. There may be some sort of coded warning for the few particularly enlightened among us, but definitely not a broad message many would understand. So for most of us, no there will be no clear warning.

As a Texan and descendant of the Last Messenger out of the Alamo and 1st Mayor of San Antonio (John Smith) I have always be for withdrawing/succession from the Union/United States. I have always hated the Federalist and this hatred has done nothing but been encouraged and grown.

However, if we do finally throw the US Government out of Texas, we should not stop there and start with throwing that Connecticut Yankee George W. Bush and all those with him out as well.

It is true that I often look around and realize my state has been invaded by every sort of person but I am willing to let them stay if they love Texas and put Texas first.

Imagine a Texas Petro Dollar backed by oil : )

Gee, and here I was thinking ATS was an utter waste of time.

THX for clearing up the timeline for those who seem to think that these vids are recent. IMO, OKC was designed to destroy the militia movement, and seems to have succeeded. While the movement still exists 'underground' as you put it, it's much less well organized.

That bankster bootlick would do nothing but see to the destruction of the Texas people. Any new civil war, and one is looking more likely every day unfortunately, will be conducted more on a regional basis than state by state IMO. And Texas would be very wise to stay out of such a concocted war, just as we should have stayed out of the last.
