There's some tolerance for ya. Yes we can carve 'B''s into peoples faces?

Disgusting indeed.

Prayers to that poor girl. Hopefully they'll catch the SOB that did this.

Unfortunately, I feel that type of mentality brewing all around us.

That is just incredible. I'm telling you all, we have real reason to worry about the upcoming days. This election is rapidly spiraling downward toward the type of climate the U.S. saw in the '60s. No wonder law enforcement is being heightened all around the country.

I hope there is a quick resolution to the incident in Pittsburg. I cannot believe how foolish an Obama supporter could be to do such a thing, assuming the details reported are indeed correct (it is apparently just breaking on local stations). The only reason someone might do this would be to intentionally exacerbate the growing antagonism between the two sides. If it was done as a message of intimidation toward McCain supporters, it'll certainly backfire. This incident, if perpetrated by an Obama supporter, can only damage Obama's already precarious public image.

Don't say that to loud around here you may hurt an Obamatron's feelings. These peace lovers would never do such a thing to a fellow human being. It was clearly done by a republican to try and make Obama supporters look bad.

Edit: Sorry, sorry, sorry thisguyrighthere, your post appeared as I was typing mine--I did not see it.

UPDATE: www.thepittsburghchannel.com...

The man was apparently robbing her at an ATM, saw her McCain bumper sticker which ostensibly angered him, and proceeded to "[punch] and [kick] the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face...the woman refused medical treatment after the assault." Well, not quite as bad as I initially thought, thank goodness. Hearing the word "carved" lead me to images of those awful Hollywood torture films that keep popping up nowadays. It is good to hear that she was not injured enough to require medical treatment, but it still must have been an absolutely terrifying experience. As a woman, I can imagine how petrifying it would be to be attacked by an apparently very large man, at night, alone. I wish her the best in recovering.

No worries. This isnt a competition. Or is it?

Anyway, somebody else started a thread for the attack:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I wonder if the "it was just a warning shot" apologists will appear there to say 'it was just a warning letter carved into her face'?

I don't understand this kind of mentality at all, from supporters of any party.

If this guy was actually a politician himself, one in office, someone that had actually done something people felt the need to rail against, then I could understand that. But a campaign manager? Nah.

People are sick and tired of all things Republican, and even 11% of Republicans are voting Democratic.

People were "sick and tired" of it four years ago too. Do you remember houses getting shot up or women being attacked then? If you can't see what this is about....well...all things considered I guess you wouldn't want to see that now would you.

This does not and should not reflect on Democrats.

I certainly do not believe that anyone has the right to intimidate another according to his vote.

Edit to add...

(You starred that?!?!!? And not a tolerance post?? And you wonder why....)

In Florida, they are OPENLY holding "VOTER SUPPRESSION" efforts. They are causing lines so long that people need to wait over 5 hours--EVEN with EARLY voting. IF it is true, that is NICE that he is alive for what they are doing (GOP). Cheating, making people wait in the sun for over 5 hours, machines breaking. THEY decreased the number of voting machines, the hours available every day, and made it so they open at 10 AM when most are at work already, then they close BEFORE they get off work. IF that is not voter suppression, I do not know what is. I am NOT for violence, such as shooting, but I'd love to fight some of them, hand to hand, no referees, no rules. THEN, put them into poor neighborhoods of those they helped keep down, and even in prisons with relatives of those they are harming. It is HITLER's party, and the GOP must go now. AMERICAN is ALL VOTE who CAN LEGALLY vote. That SHOULD be age based and CITIZENSHIP based. NOT getting rid of votes because you put John S. Mccain instead of John STEVEN Mccain like it says on a driver's license. Id, picture, it matches, BUT instead they are telling them "PROVISIONAL ballots" then not counting them.

HATRED gets what it asks for, and usually this means the MAJORITY eventually fight back. I have NO sympathy for ANY GOP member who is suppressing votes which causes some in power to HURT others that a MAJORITY did not elect. BUSH lost, twice, with POPULAR vote (true democracy) and CHEATED twice. YET, we had to take it, now eat the mortgage crisis, people DYING, losing homes, starving kids, etc etc; ANGER HAS BEEN BUILDING. Rove, Bush, IN TIME, they, Cheney, and even probably Mccain will all taste some sort of wrath. I mentioned this BEFORE, then a few days later, SOMEBODY TRIED TO ARREST ROVE!!!! Later on, it will be worse, mark these words. I JUST AM AN OBSERVER, and SEE that those who cause harm, lie, cheat, that they will pay.

This is funny in many wrong ways. I saw this on an episode of "Monk" Guy whacks himself by tying a sock full of change of something to a ceiling fan. I'm sure she was dumb enough to record herself hitting herself. That just doesn't sound right.
I'll wait for the YouTube version of the story.

Doh! not hard enough... Doh! you missed! Doh! step into the fan.... That's the one...

It is not just the pundits that are dividing this nation...it is us as well.

Any literal political motivated "attack" such as the girl getting mugged (now admitting she did it to herself) or this guy saying his home was shot up should be taken with a grain of salt in the peak of this political fever.

The media is quick to spin it out there without concern for veracity.

We are a melting pot, a collection of different perpectives and ides. IT IS THE USAs GREATEST STRENGTH. DIVERSITY of PEOPLE AND IDEAS! It is what makes us great in a world full of mono-cultures and dictatorships.

Once we start thinking about our fellow Americans in terms of "us and them", we become weaker as a nation.

******Obama at the 2004 convention*******
Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes.

Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America.

There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America.

The pundits, the pundits like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States: red states for Republicans, blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states.

We coach little league in the blue states and, yes, we've got some gay friends in the red states.

There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq, and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.

We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.

In the end, that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism, or do we participate in a politics of hope?

Which is why we took down our bumperstickers and don't have any yard signs up this year. Considering the mentality of some of the disciples of these politicians .. yikes! Having a yard sign is like putting a big red bulls-eye on your home.

I told my aging parents, from a more civilized era, to remove their signs from the yard last night. My folks are having a difficult time understanding that people actually do this type of thing. A co-worker had is bumper sticker peeled off and stuck to his windshield. Fortunately, that is all that they did.

Yes. Where I live an Obama sign down the street had a racial slur spray painted on it. I like to believe it was dumb kids who don't understand the world yet. That's what I have been telling myself. I took the Obama sticker off my car after much thought. I drive the kids around in that car and I wouldn't want to risk their safety for the sake of my political beliefs.
