Good points. It is an Israeli newspaper. But you wouldn't expect to see this on Aljazerra.

Perhaps it was leaked and published to take the wind out of the sails of those pushing for a preemptive strike.

You are right I wouldn't expect to see it on Al-Jazeera, nor CNN, Fox, or MSNBC. It serves no purpose to be on those channels because the people seeing them would dismiss outright as the crap it is. Only Israel would want to play this up because it grows the fear of the populace giving them support for a pre-preemptive strike. Just like Bush and Iraq.

Yea, and I am sure the Palestinians are thrilled about living side by side with people who send tanks to destroy their lives and homes, build illegal walls and treat them like cattle.

As I have said over and over again: Both sides are guilty of terrible, disgusting things. There is no point in arguing over who's sword is bloodier.

I only wish that the we in the US weren't so damn brainwashed into thinking Isreal = Innocent victim, Palestine = Evil terrorist.

im not 100% sure the palestinians want to live side by side with people who
invade thier country at will

shoot wildly down the street for no reason when its full of children and old people

grab jail and torture kids as young as 10 for years with no charges ever mentioned (and i do mean torture)

test new nerve gas thats similar to teargas but much much worse and potentially deadly on peaceful protests

demolish houses knowing full well people are asleep inside them

lets see when the enemy has tanks and aircraft sometimes the only way to fight back the aggressor is a vest of explosives and hope that if you casue enough damage they will hopefully fall back to secure thier own border and stay there

its not a tactic i agree with but desperation changes many things

Wake up, we are fed a bunch of crap about Iran. We cite reasons why they 'must be seeking nukes', all the while doing the exact opposite in a nation which is under the same resourse situation.

Even if they do...they aren't allowed to why?

Pakistan is allowed to have them, hell we practically gave Saudi Arabia the means to have them...Iran should be different because...

...oh, because they are the 'axis-of-evil' and hate the west. They are not/will not going to use WMDs (even if they were to have them) on another nation. They want to stay alive as eagerly as everyone else.

Maybe a history of powerful western nation coming in, overthrowing their government and installing an opresive, murderous one is reason enough to want some kind of 'security belt'.

Nations don't attack nations with known nuclear arsenals on the whim and lies of their leaders (cough, Iraq, cough). But whatever, all we get to hear is 'he is crazy and wants weapons of mass destruction'.

If Iran want's nuclear arms, perhaps it is so they can 'join the big boys', and not get invaded for nothing or destroyed from within when they attempt to nationalize their resources for, you know, their country.

It's alot of fear-mongering bull, and I still can't understand how people fall for it every time.

Good eye. The first time that I read the article that didn't register at all.

The US presidential election can certainly influence how the US will respond to world situations.

I don't think that the world needs more nuclear weapons. I'd love to see an international dialogue aimed at reducing the total number of nukes in the world.

I am guessing you guys missed the Russian news report(sir pukin) that said russia was sending thousands of parts to Iran to help them finish up the reactor ahead of schedule.Along with the weaponry they already moved over there, its got everyone on edge. Not just because of the war monger' Bush's cabinet but because Russia is stoking the flames.
After the report I saw about American and Russian generals meeting; then this I would be worried if I lived there.

Well, as long as powerful nations who push their weight around have them, then large nations who are obviously being targetted and pinned in the exact same way Iraq was only years earlier are going to want them.

It's a matter of having an ace in the hole so to speak. You are not going to be invaded and destroyed if in doing so, the nation which invades also gets wiped off the face of the earth.

MAD is a pathetic form of 'peace', but now that it is here, I do not see it going away. You can say you got rid of all your nukes, but any nation with any sense of foresight would realize that the 'other guys' might put on a big show and keep some in secret for their own sense of security/power/whatever.

Especially nations who think that their word goes.

Just giving my opinion pal! I don't like them and believe that no country should have them.

You aint never going to get love and peace on this planet! But i still believe in it!

I don't want to see Iran with WMD! Just like i don't want to see USA or Russia with WMD!

But for the people who don't want WMD's we have a better chance at stopping Iran from getting them than we do USA or Russia!
