A former top official at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) faces four years in prison after pleading guilty in a gruesome body-parts trafficking scandal, prosecutors say.
Henry Reid, 58, will be sentenced to four years and four months in prison on January 30 after admitting conspiracy to commit grand theft, Deputy District Attorney Marisa Zarate said.
Prosecutors allege Reid, the former director of UCLA's Willed Body Program, which oversees donated corpses, sold parts to another man, Ernest Nelson, for thousands of dollars during a five-year period between 1999 and 2004.
