Why are all prophecies about bad things to come

I have not heard of one that there will be something good happening to mankind ..except 2012 and that is more of an ending ...not exactly a positive

Everyone is only looking for bad but in order for us to become a peaceful society then we must look for the positives to life not the negatives...

If someone can show me an equal amount of positive prophecies to counter the negitive ones then I will admit im wrong without any arguement

I for one believe we as earthling can overcome anything as long as we see all the positives there are and it is up to us all to change things for the better

Everyone here on the planet are here for a purpose... and it up to us to change thing for our benifit... we have experamented with all kinds of thing to find out which are good and what is bad ...

We as earthing must eliminate all the bad experament and improve on the good ones

thank you all for your time in reading this

Well like you mentioned there are many prophecies for 2012 like the ascension, a rebirth, age of aquarius, golden age, .etc but I think what it comes down to is survival instinct. I think that our attention is more easily drawn to things that may be seen as harmful or novel and therefore need to be checked out. A lot of how people operate is based on fear. We think in "okay this will probably happen so I need to prepare for it by doing this".

A prophesy is 50% what is written and 50% what is read.

And as stated above, FEAR moves a man better then any other feeling.

Peace

Not all prophecies are.

Just the ones that make the headlines

I agree, not all Prophecy is doom and gloom, Humans just seem to revel in the doom and gloom scenario's then when it catches up and gets scary, we tend to look for salvation from somewhere, ( and I am not talking about you know who and you know when)

Take the Hopi Prophecy, not all that is doom and gloom, it has lots and lots of hope and Love.

Its very baffling, probably been studied also, I think I will go and Google to see.

yeah most of the popular ones are bad

i've not yet heard anyone claim that on a certain date a million rainbows will appear and stuffed animals will fall from the sky for all the world to cuddle

hmmm, well i guess there's a reason for that

first off, that would be lame and secondly, it's less plausible than any doom prediction ever

There is an innate longing inside a "majority" of Humans the World over to be living in the "End Times" and sadly this peculiarity has permeated our societies irrespective of race, colour and creed.

Why do people want to see the world end ? well in the West our Religion ( Christianity ) has taught for 1000's of years that when it happens the good people go to Heaven and the bad to Hell. This concept alone has spurned a "Cottage" industry that plays to peoples innate weakness to want the world to end.

How do we cure this sickness ? I chose to allow my kids to seek out the truth on their own ( with some small guidance ) and I have chosen not to pass on any baggage the religion that was chosen for me at birth has.

a long time ago i was working at a gas station and there was a group of people talking. they were talking about how excited they were that the world would be ending soon so that they could go to heaven. one of them even said, "man i can't wait for the world to end so i can get my rewards"

i said, "you won't be going to heaven"

the people in his group gasped and he got red in the face, angry at my words and screamed, "who are you to judge me?"

i said, "i'm not judging you but based on what you just said, you won't be going to heaven. you said, 'i can't wait for the world to end so i can get my rewards', so basically you are saying you are excited at the prospect of the entire world ending for everyone and everything in it so that you can get your milkbones. that, my friend is greed and pride and it does you no good service. you need to pray on it."

that pretty much shut him up but the point is i understand exactly what you're saying

Mental barriers cloud the mind. Everyone does not see eye to eye, as much as that would be nice. Whether you're religious or not, you can't disagree that world decisions and advancements should be made with secular intentions. Unless you can provide proof of your claims, then we need to act on what is physically able to be proven. I don't jump off of buildings because a book told me gravity doesn't exist. Reason should influence people's decisions, not an imaginary friend.

Most people are apathetic. One of the only ways to spurn apathetic people into action is calamity. I guess some people just don't get the hint until they crash that car doing "a buck twenty" down the expressway. Then it's all about "What did I do to deserve this fate?" Well um, hello!! Read the righting on the wall. It doesn't take a prophet to foresee that you are going to kill yourself and or others. Then you have those that believe in that sort of thing and will grasp onto any idea to help make sense of it all. In some cases, the point being made is twisted to shape to the particular situation. Thus a prophesy is born for anyone that does the same in the future. We struggle as human beings to justify ourselves and our existence. Unfortunately, most of the time we need to loose what we have to see what we had. Good things happening all the time, just don't seem to make any sense to us anymore. And then there's the "I TOLD YOU SO's"

Well given the history of the world over the past 2000 years,
If there were many accurate predictions over that duration of time,
Alot of them would have been doom and gloom. Because there has been alot of it.

This world so far has mostly been either neutral, or gloomy. Nothing has ever been happy or perfect.

So i do not see any reason why predictions of love and light should spring up any time soon.

It's easier to frown than smile? I will admit, most of the 'positive' predictions sound like so much new age 'just love and the world works' junk that it really is hard to take while the 'negative' predictions generally have some basis in reality and are much easier to see or 'relate to'. Not that most people want to see the world in collapse, it's just easy to see how humankind could easily make that happen. It seems to me most true positive moments I have are solitary or are shared in an intimate moment with a lover/friend. Negativity is easily a group thing.

!

I do
I think a massive World war with WMDs is inevitable.

But I also believe our souls reunite with the source of creation and exist in perfect being.

It's a nice balance.

I don't care if it is, I am at peace with myself ...If I die, Ok I dont have to put up with what is happening on the planet ...If I live, it will be to help others see what stupidity does to man and lead them away from it.

The only thing I fear is what my own mind will come up with next.

To quote a album title, "Peace sells...but who's buying?"

Doom and gloom rule the world. Doom and gloom sell. Why do we bother to watch the news? We have a internal, instinctual fascination with the bad that is here and the bad that is to come.

Well.... I had a dream/prediction Thurs morning. I woke up from a dream where I went into a weigh-in class, and the lady said I lost 4lb. I woke up ecstatic...then sad (seeing as I didn't actually). Told mum about my dream when I got home from work, she just laughed at me. 1 hour later, fast forward, weigh in = what happens? I lost 4lb... wish I made a video now - but then again, my mum called me a Witch... nice.
(she was only jesting) Meh. Oh well, I'm happy

Prophecy is only surrounded by good messages and moral too but its own subject line is about warnings of change. Its about telling people of events that change history and a guide to to help people get out of the situation. When you have a toddler who walks about on his knees around the house you look after him/her by saying 'don't do that', you close the doors and move the ashtrays i case they get hurt. Does not mean you are being doom and gloom, you are just warning the toddler and pickig them up and looking after them and preventig them getting hurt.

Also Prophecy is a statement of God's proof to mankind that he has authority and truth and power over all things including seeing the future. But to allow freedoms and mans toddler like aproaches to this world through trial and error God will show his authority and warnings when dad arrives the the wolf is waiting outside.

It always has a good ending but they are mostly about events that will change the world forever. Jesus Christ had over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament so even though he was killed he rose up again.

I personally believe that the prophesies and the predictions of todays world all revolve around this mysterious quote.

"Things have to get a lot worse before they get a lot better"

It seems our minds have attached to this thought and that's the only thing we see in our lives. Things such as massive killings that lead to peace. Or end of the world scenarios such as the rapture.

If only we changed that quote to.

"Things can change if and how we want them too"

By the way, let me bring a massive contradiction to the faces of many. I've heard many people say they hate war, but than again believe a scenario should happen that bring mass peace yet leaves undesirable consequences.
