Explanation to many "lights in the sky" videos

I took this video about 10 hours ago. It has been separated into 3 short YouTube videos. This reminded me of the Phoenix lights video I saw on a discovery channel program. Just want to hear what the ATS community has to say about them.

that doesn't look like anything to me. just little balls of lights.

Looks like flares. Notice how they are slowly descending to the ground. either dropped from a plane or fired from the ground and then they stay in the air using a small parachute.

That was quick! Just wanted to see how long it would take for someone figure out what they are. I see so many "UFO" videos that are easily identifiable technology used routinely by our military. For anyone who has not seen what these flares look like I have posted some photos. These are hand fired signal flares; they can be fired by artillery and dropped from aircraft at high altitude. They can drift and linger for what seems like forever before burning out.
