Wait a second, I don't know much about this but I remember a city awhile ago getting a big massive hole in the ground just like that for no apparent reason, they just woke up to it and it was massive.

Can anyone link to that city with pictures of that big hole? It wasn't at a quarry it was in the middle of the city or something.

I used Virtual Earth and found some big holes, apparently right in the middle of a residential area of the West part of Las Vegas. Once you get close, it has a "bird's eye" butten that gives you an arial photo (seperate from the normal map). This is what I got on one of these holes.

Here is a close up of the bottom.

Here is this spot in the normal map view.

Here is what was going on in what would be the right hand half, in the map view.

They are quiet common in Las Vegas, they're known as gravel pits. Matter of fact, there is a 75-acre gravel pit located right behind my neighborhood. The gravel pit that's located behind my neighborhood has been there for a little just over 10+ years. There are over 3,000 homes and more than a dozen associations, that surround the gravel pit nowadays. The land is zoned P-F or public facility and will be used as a detention basin.

Here is a few pictures of the gravel pit that's located behind my neighborhood:

I use to live right next to thouse pits,i snuck in one time to see it.
Now something wierd i saw was this giant pipe and valve that said atomic something on it.
That was ran between the 2 pits under spring mountain rd.
Being down the bottom of it was a wierd exspiernce to like how steep parts where did the ever consider what would happen if the walls of thous pits gave.
Alot of damage and death would take place
