Ok lets face it. Blossom Goodchild is a genius. She's created a massive con, earning a good deal of money. I would ask why people are falling for it but i know con games well enough to know how it all works. She provides something people want and people respond to it. I always thought that the people on ATS were smarter than this, i guess i was wrong.

It's like the old snake oil salesman, appeal to peoples hopes and they'll pay you whatever they can.

Does anyone have any idea how much she has made off of this? I really have no idea what web ad's pay or how much GFL super water she is selling.

I would be very curious to see just how much she takes in. I bet if those numbers were out there, the number of believers would drop pretty substantially.

even if nobody on ATS had believed it, there are still millions of people who would.
How has she made money out of it? Not that i dont believe you, but ive purposely not looked too deep into this person and her background, so i dont know what her MO is.

if she was a genius she probably should of set a date a bit further away, maximise book sales and such. maybe she has a conscience though and thinks the smaller the time the smaller the crime. If i bought into the story and it didnt happen id sue her.

Quite simply? Web advertising. That's the key way for these people.

However her website (which i had to visit for this thread) lists books, cd's and other things.

That however is the beauty of it, you can't sue her. She could easily channel a new thinga nd say that "We aren't ready to visit your violent planet, you're not ready, when you are we'll be back and Blossom will be our contact".

She has a decent get out of jail free card.

Advertising donations & book sales...

Remember Prophet Yahweh?? He got ALOT of folks excited about UFO sighting etc and just before a mass sighting he said they changed their minds and needed money to buy better servers or something. Either way, he was a conman, got people excited and then asked for money to continue the cause.

Lets hope its not the case here...

Do you know anything about her career background? Did you give away money? Is there yet another thread in trying to collect meaningless stars? Is your iq a 2 digit number?

If you can answer all those give yourself a pat on the back. Because you deserve to be called a jerk.

I didn't give away any money no, i have had trouble finding out about her background, if you can inform me i'd be grateful. My IQ is not very important and why you bought it up says a lot about you doesn't it. And i don't give a flying monkey about stars.

It's interesting how you closed all possible routes here. If i answer i'm a jerk, if i don't answer i'm ignorant, well done lol.

It's the same thing in the end.

Didn't that prophet Yahweh do the same thing? He had this massive audience, gave a date and time I beleive and all for naught. Quite frankly I too am surprised people are falling for this but I guess it gives some hope and makes the days go by for them

Has anyone noticed her Wikipedia article got deleted? You can still read a tiny bit about it if you Google search her:

Blossom Goodchild - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -
Blossom Goodchild is an Australian actress and self-professed medium (with no substantial proof of her asserted abilities) who claims to have begun ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blossom_Goodchild

Link to deleted Wiki article: en.wikipedia.org...

This raises two possibilities:

1) Blossom Goodchild really IS a media, the GFL starships will arrive on October the 14th as she predicted and the deleted Wikipedia article shows that the Government tried to ridicule her and stamp her as a fraud.

2) Blossom Goodchild is an actress and this whole thing is a new lonelygirl15 scam.

...or a new kind of Blair Witch Project?

Hey lets be fair to lonelygirl15, hers was more a performance rather than a plain old snake oil scam playing on peopels fears.

Lots of peoples on ATS believe her, and i thought the pointof ATS was to deny ignorance. I never said ATS members had donated money.

*IMPORANT NOTE*

I request that no one stars or flags this post because i'm being accused of hunting for stars and flags. So please don't do either of these things.

What has she shown, said or done to make people take her theory into account??? I only heard of this today Oct 13 and all I see is a possibly very lonely aging woman spouting nonsense.

Why has she captivated entire nations here?
Why have we let her???

2000 the world will end, oh wait that didn't happen, 2001 the world will end, oh wait that didn't happen, 2012 the world will end, I don't buy it, now tomorrow aliens are coming, come off it.

Why do we as a world hope to see the end of days???

No, not everyone on ATS has swallowed this nonsense. If you do a search on my posts you will see I have been a staunch debunker of this woman, and I will tell you why.

Blossom Goodchild is in cahoots with the Internet's BEST "spiritual" scammer of all time Sheldan Nidle.

For those that were around or who remember, there was another storm in a tea cup back in January this year about a supposed 'Mass Landing' of UFO's. So where did this info come from? Why Sheldan Nidle of course.

So I pointed out then, and I will do it again. Sheldan Nidle has announced this "message" in 1998, 2000, 2003, 2008 and now of course he says they are coming in 2012.

So how many times does someone have to get it wrong before people give them a wide berth?

That is why he used his pal Blossom for this scam. He knew he couldn't get away with another so soon after the failed mass landing, so he cooked this one up.

The connection between the 2 is the so-called Federation of Light group.

Blossom was born in England and migrated to Australia (year not known). She lives on the "Sunshine Coast" which is an affluent part of the country popular with wealthy retirees.

So people PLEASE TAKE NOTE - anything to do with Sheldan Nidle or his affiliations is a SCAM.

People are so down and out at this point in history they are so desperate for any good news, and Sheldan and his cronies prey on this - hovering like vulchers ready to pick the meat from your bones.

I'd say it's a safe bet that most people on this planet have never heard of this 'Blossom Goodchild' person. And most of us who have heard of her, wish we hadn't.

No doubt about it, Blossom Goodchild is a genius.. she has hundreds of thousands of people that believe her and millions that have at least heard of her so called prediction.

So in the sense that she was able to spread this nonsense to the degree that she did, does make her a genius.

I don't know what to think about this whole deal.

And not sure that she is a genius like you say and here is why.

UFO Digest

Naysayers will immediately dismiss Goodchild’s statements as ludicrous. However, if Goodchild was consciously perpetrating a hoax and simply wanted to make money with all this (after all, she is an author and actress), she is definitely going about it in the wrong manner. Any skilled marketing representative would tell her to do two things:

1) Be less specific of the date on which the craft is supposed to appear (actually, they would most likely tell her to put it off by at least nine months)

2) Flood the market with products and services (books, videos, seminar appearances and lectures, etc) so the money can start pouring in. She's done neither.

Actually, her prediction was made on August 22nd of this year, with “showtime” being less than three months away - far too soon a timeline for the reaping of financial rewards or fame.

Speaking of which...

There is also the inevitable credibility factor to consider. If Goodchild proves to be wrong with this information, it is obvious that whoever enjoyed reading her materials before will begin to shun and avoid her in the future (much like our beloved and elusive Bigfoot hunters from Georgia). So on a personal level, quite a bit is at stake for Goodchild. And she would know this.

To stir the waters even further, consider that the Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Stephen Harper in the last week has called for surprise federal elections to occur on (you guessed it) … October 14th, 2008. According to Mr. Alfred Webre from Exopolitics.com, world officials are taking the announcement of the arrival of an extraterrestrial spacecraft in our skies seriously, and plans may already be underway to pull public focus away from such a seminal event and place it on more domestic and political issues instead. In this case, the controversy generated by surprise federal elections would tie up Canadian airwaves quite nicely. If extraterrestrials wish for their presence to be known to the world on that day, they would need to account for this type of potential interference, along with one million other variables.

Of course, being highly evolved Beings, they (hopefully) would.
