i thought of this question because in the bible in genises it says ONLY God made life on earth etc...

it would change my ideas on religion...

Where exactly does it say god only made life on earth? I'd look but i'm just too lazy right now. And no, I dont think it would change my ideas about religion at all.

it says that God made the universe and stuff then it describes God making life on earth ONLY and not on any other planet...

My ideas on religion have always included the likelyhood that this is not the only location in the universe to have life. It would actually confirm a lot for me and give me added confidence that I might be on the right track.

Well yeah but theres always that possibility that god did make life on other planets and its just not mentioned in the bible.

My ideas on religion have to do with the understanding that God created life here and also in other places in the universe. Our version of Genesis only talks about God creating life on this Earth, but what's to say he didn't create life on other planets. And they have their own Bible equivalents, and the people who wrote our Bible had no idea they ever existed. Those are my beliefs on religion and life on other planets.

I firmly believe there is life out there, it's totally ignorant and foolish not to think theres no other forms of life in the entire huge universe. It wouldn't change my faith at all, it'd probably strengthen it.

IF God created other life forms on other planets and they have their own bible as you say they would not have experienced Christ!

Jesus was the ONLY son of God and God wasted His son on earth...

the bible is mainly about Christ and His teachings...

not bashing you just typing ideas...

Perhaps if there find something worth hunting, fishing, or capable of communicating with us my idealogy might change enough to make me want to go there and see it for myself. The discovery of micro-organisms would just assure me that there is all kinds of diverse life throughout the universe, the discovery of something somewhat "intelligent" would be something worth celebrating.

I dont see how life on Mars would alter one's religious views, one who abandons their faith over that kind of discovery never had it to begin with.

Actually... What do you say about the Old Testament? That's not about Christ and his teachings. People might think my theory is crazy and out of wack, but I'll try to explain it anyway because it replies to what you asked.

It is my belief that we experienced the first coming of Christ, and that whatever other planet God created beings on will experience the second coming of Christ, thus fulfilling prophecies of both peoples, and bringing us together. I know it sounds weird, but that's what I've started thinking about recently. Hope that explains what I think about Christ and the two Bibles.

What jrod said is also true. I highly doubt my theory will be proven by finding life on Mars. If anything we'll find insects or microorganisms, nothing earth/faith shattering by any means. Too bad for people who's faith is hurt if we discover life out there. That's not good faith to begin with...

And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24 And God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds." And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the cattle according to their kinds, and everything that creeps upon the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26

And GOD made the beasts of the earth. No where in Genisis does it say that GOD made creatures only on earth. He creates the heaven and the lights and then the dry land and GOD calls the land earth.

If GOD choose to call another planet Theta then he would have created whatever he wanted and told the beasts of Theta to multiple.

GOD is the creator of all, for which man will never comprehend.

robertfenix, please clarify something for me. Are you arguing for or against the idea that God could have created life on other planets?

will we (people on earth) experience Christ's second coming???

if not this will disprove youre theory because Christ will come to judge us and it will be the end of that culture (end of the world)...

no matter wear Christ comes (whatever planet) he will totaly destroy their culture and life...

sry that disproves youre theory...

IF God made life on other planets, wouldnt that be important enough to write down???

Actually it doesn't disprove my theory. Like I said, his coming to the other planet will fulfill their prophecy as well as ours, and bring us together. By bringing us together I mean to say that he will come and reveal himself to us, after he has revealed himself to them. His second coming on our planet will be after his first coming on their planet. When he comes for the rapture and then to establish his Kingdom, it will be a bringing together of both peoples.

I never said this was an idea that other people should follow, but it is my idea.

And on that note; sry that disproves your disproof of my theory...

Why would we write it down if we had no idea that it even happened? We have no right to think God would reveal the other life to us, God can do whatever the hell God wants. That's what makes him so mysterious... and.. well.. God.

you are rite BUT it will not "unite" us because when Christ comes to the other planet he will kill them all (life) and send them to the afterlife...

we will be the only ones left...

God is all truth right (that is what christians believe)???

so...

if He is ALL truth he will tell us ALL and not hide the truth because that itself is a sin and this would make God not God...

Uhm no i don't think it really is that important, do you write down every ant you squash? we're thought of on a small scale, the universe being proof. Now do you really have the time to write down every possibility and if you did would you deem it important?

they see ALL I like the fact that you like DBZ, but I dont like the fact that you're just searching for ways to attack me or Christianity or whatever. I'm not saying my theory is perfect, but I am saying it's something I'm starting to believe. God is all truth, yes, but that doesn't mean he has to tell us all truth.
Did God tell us that there'd be automobiles many many years in the future?
Did God tell us that people would end up being so bad that he'd have to make a flood?
Did God tell us in the beginning that he'd send his only begotten son to earth in order to die for our sins?

God knows all, but that doesn't mean he has to reveal everything to us. Everything he does is part of his grand plan that we can't even really fathom. No one can speak for God and say that he should or has to tell us everything. Your last argument is really weak and a stretch, I'm sorry.

I believe in such a thing called the afterlife and Christ's Kingdom when he comes after the end times. This is where we will be united. Well, that's what I think anyway... Like I said, I don't pretend to be saying any kind of truth. It's only a theory I have.
