In February 2003, the vice-president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, in Canadian Senate hearings, said that de facto integration of Canada with the United States was here already "whether many Canadians realize it or want to accept it" and, anyway, we don't need "duplicate systems of approval."

I've always been prowd of Canada and our ability to see the big picture. Lately I've felt a chill of americanesque line towing. We are on the edge of an election here in Canada and the pro corperate Harper has crossed the line of Canadian decency. Spending big money to elicit fear, fighting any position that effects the corperate power hold on our country. The Media is in his pocket (big supprise) they know what they have to say to get to print. We're trying to move in a moraly positive direction but a glossy eyed inquisition has emerged. Freedom seized by oil profits. Conservative alliance zombies waving there shackles preaching freedom. They're cutting the brake lines of liberal thinkers up here. Money will trump logic, greed will overrun honor, profits will trump love.
Where did all of these uneducated line towers come from?
If we don't make a stand now the true north prowd and free will be in danger of riding shotgun to oblivion!
[SNIP] the imaginary frational economy I want to make a better world for my kids!
Teach them self sustainability and the secrets of our master economy ~~~~>NATURE.

All it will take is a Tory majority. The upside? I don't see that happening inside of 20 years. At the minimum.

I live in the conservative heartland of Canada and have traveled all over this great country. I really feel a shift away from nationalism towards corperatism. Pop media sensibility is the new cultural definer and the vast majority is from the states. It's more about $$ and surface style than brotherhood and unity.
Divide and conquer, man does that ever work to a T.

I'd like to make a few simple points

Right now, Canada is stuck under The U.S.A's policies and is in every way and it's destiny irrevocably linked to ours.

Your cities are targeted by our enemies Nukes

Your Defense in the event of those attacks are handled mainly by us

Your nation is liked to our psychologically around the world,

Your a member of Nato

You Share our Borders, Our Water in the case of the Great Lakes our Roads

Computers are linked up, the media is linked and shared,

Your affected directly and inexorably linked to our economic state



On every imaginable level, you are Connected to the United States, in any crisis, war, depression you are going to share our fate

With One exception

You currently have no say, no vote and no capacity to control or influence your own fate, locked out of the very politics that so affect your nation.

If America starts ww3, you will die alongside us...

So, Provided you do not loose, the Canadian Rights like Health care and the liberties you currently hold... and as America is leaning socialist now you almost certainly won't

Why not lend us, the 40 Million sane votes and the Politics of the Great North

You could alter America for the better, there would be no sudden influx of refugees lol or major changes to your lives...

and you would have a chance to control and influence Washington,

America is, a bit out of control, the sanity of Canada and it's influence would be greatly appreciated, you would provide the swing votes on so many issues that would make America more like Canada


Right now, you have no choice as to the course America leads this continent to, none...

and this way you would

and the corporations have no bounds... none, so your culture, is for the most part no different than ours beyond region to region

In America California is one way of thinking, the Northwest another, in the Midwest Another and they have retained their roots and cultures

Canada would in no real meaningful way change when you walked out the door in the morning, your states would have the same state laws they do now because you'd be electing your Governors in your states

But One Huge thing would change

Representation in Washington as to the National Policies of the United States

Those 40 million votes, more liberal, more open and more progressive then much of the lower 48 states

Could dramatically change the course of America for the good thereby assuring your own futures from our self destruction

Canadian influence in American politics is sorely needed by us

and right now, all you have is the reverse
