I was randomly browsing Top Paranormal Events of 2007 when a link to this site caught my eye.

Here is the link to the article, video of the swings and a picture.

paranormal.about.com.../XJ&sdn=paranormal&cdn=newsissues&tm=9&gps=292_389_1276_828&f=20&su=p504.1.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bt s=0&zu=http%3A//www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article385529.ece

It just seems so movie-like that I can't tell whether the self swinging swings are a hoax or if the footage is genuine. Apparantly the swings rocked for 10 days then stopped dead.

My first thought was the wind, but I don't know whether the article is fake or not.

WOW!
I love it. It creeps me out.

I wish I could see it for myself.

I've seen this before... awhile back, it is truly a strange phenomena.

Even when they stop the swing it slowly starts back up again.

With the amount of people standing around the thing looking at it, doesn't point towards a hoax.

I have nothing really too add this.

Cheers, Fox.

(Heres the YouTube link...)

Edit: fixed Youtube link and some spelling.

(ProTip too self: Read post before submiting.)

Swings move like that all the time with the wind. You can see the hair on the children sway and the kid with the kite is catching some air.

Granted.
But why the ONE swing in the middle, and not the others? And for that swing to get that kind of height would require some pretty strong wind.

Didn't someone stop the swing in this Vid?

...I haven't watched the one that I posted, just thought that there was only the one version.... or is it the one?

I can't see any way that it could be the wind either.

Have they ever proved this too be a Hoax??? Anyone??

Cheers, Fox.

I was expecting some very obvious fakery here, but the reality is, this looks pretty legit, still... until I know more about it, it could be a trick. The video quality is very poor, and the artifacts make it hard to see, but it does seem like there is a faint, distortion on the swing, I thought I almost made out a head and torso, but again, mind could just be assembling the pixelation and creating that illusion.

Haunted swing explanation - comes up under the video after it's done playing. Seems reasonable seeing as there is quite a wind.Explanation

No ghost here, just like the explanation says. Go find some swings in a park thats prone to wind an you see the same thing

It looks pretty real. If it was the wind the swing would be moving in one direction, not back and forth, AND, they said it moved for ten days straight, so thats a hell of a long time for the wind to blow that strong.

This haunted swing thing is a urban legend or myth, kinda like the bloody mary one, or the dead person hanging in the school auditorium. My hometown has their own take of the haunted swing, where the little girl was killed by her father and buried under the swing set. Not to say legends and myth don't come from some sort of truth.

Have you even watched the video? Or are you just reading the topic and posting an opinion?

I really would like too hear from anyone that knows if this video has been debunked yet.

Cheers, Fox.

The first thing that came to mind was "fishing line".

Kind of hard to prove and debunk this one, but as you'll notice, they made no attempts to view the people behind the camera, or walk around the swingset to show that there were no wires or line attached.

Just two cents.

yea, I watched the video before. The swing seemingly starts swing slowly back and forth. The shot of the swing and everything seems so outta place, it could be the wind. even if the author of the video states there isn't any. but like i said, anything can happen.
