A picture (top) has been doing the rounds showing Piper Palin, Gov. Palin's six-year-old daughter, apparently giving a boy the finger. Yes, it's a hoax. In the original (bottom), which can be found on the Alaska state website, it's clear that Piper has two fingers raised.

I agree that the photoshopped version is funny, but in my research of the picture, I found that some people are passing the fake version as real and casting aspersions on the Palin family and their values.

A joke is a joke, but when it supplants the truth and is used in an injurious way, it becomes criminal.

I see the irony of this whole little escapade seems to fly right by you, Fathom.
