In this Lunar Orbiter image of the Reiner Gamma area, it doesn't look quite as flat as in the b/w image you posted:

The image I posted is derived from LIDAR elevation data which provides 40m vertical resolution so yes, it is a pretty flat area.
Very high resolution imaging from Clementine is available HERE

i looked very closely at it. it's interesting. i think i see the right side of it, going away from the viewer, and it's been obscured by shadow. err no, i just looked again and it's not what i thought it was. nevermind

I really doubt that...
but as you recently pointed out in another thread, they don't listen. We showed all the links to those color images in 2006 when they were released in the Clementine thread...

But then some of us are not 'public'

The above image is 10% of the actual size... for you the public

So then how about showing the remainder 90% of the 'non public' image? There could be some hidden treasure there!!

Cheers!

Just a quick question Mike, have you ever tried questioning NASA about these anomalies.
I would be interested to see their point of view or some kind of researcher logic on these many artifact like structures faces etc.

Yep!

1. Rocks.
2. Light and shade effects.
3. Glitches in the image.
4. And so on!

NASA? Never A Straight Answer!!

Cheers!

Figures lol, it is too bad N.A.S.A doesn't come clean on most of their cover up etc.

It would be a great day if it was so.

Could you please tell us who were the persons you contacted?

The only time I contacted a NASA person I got a straight answer.

And those answers you got are straight answers, they are just not the ones you would like to get, right?

Check it out with zorgon! He's got a list as long as his arm. One says that it's just rocks, but the image is INTERESTING! What the...?

Cheers!

I know Zorgon has a long list, what I would like to know was the ones you contacted and, if possible, about what, so I could try my luck.

As I said before, the only time I contacted someone from NASA (Jim Garvin, about that Powerpoint presentation) he gave me a straight answer.

"Screaming about it" does not make it real.

If he (or anyone else) can provide real photos or other evidence of that, fine, until then it's just another unproved theory.

I try to keep a very open mind with regards to all things. There are most certainly facts that are kept ummm...shall we say "contained".
Sometimes though gentlemen a cigar is just a cigar.
Honestly this structure appears to be nothing more than a blemish in the image.

Maybe this higher resolution version (taken from the Lunar Orbiter Digitization Project) can show you that this is really a flat feature.

Are you sure?

I have never counted the images (I may be crazy, but not that much
), but the images we see are made with several smaller images, and the fact that they took photos in six different wavelengths also creates a larger number of images, remember that the colour images are really three images in one.

If we had a list we could know which images were used and which images were missing, do you know of such a list?

Edited to change "five different wavelengths" to the correct "six different wavelengths".

To me the photos appear to be of the car keys I have misplaced. I have no idea how they got up there.

My favorite is this one

Is this one from the "non public", 100% version?

It looks too small to be a 100% (when compared with the 'clips') and too big when compared with the first image.

From the public files, "my" version of Reiner Gamma.

It may not be the 100% version (or maybe it is), but it's much better than the previously posted "public" version.

You have to click the image to see it in it's full size.
