Obama Sign In Yard Stirs Up Neighbors

www.cfnews13.com

BAREFOOT BAY -- A sign in one man's front yard has stirred up a controversy in his community.

Neighbors of Andy Lacasse said the sign, which reads "Obama Half-Breed Muslin [sic]," breaches the fine line between free speech and inappropriateness.

"I got nothing good to say about Obama," Lacasse told News 13. "If I see anybody touching that sign, I got a club sitting right over there."

Wow. Racist and a great speller (sarcasm). This must be the type of lingering hate left in America that a recent story on MSN said could hurt Obama's chances for getting elected. And believe it or not - this guy isn't even a Republican! He was a registered Democrat until Obama took the nomination from Clinton.

Haha! Let him keep his sign! It just shows what mental level he possesses, and lets his neighbors know what kind of person they have for a neighbor. He doesn't even know he called Obama a kind of cotton fabric.

I dont get how it is racist, 'Half breed' Is that innapropriate?

If i was mixed race, i would be unsure if i should be offended or not..

Can you elaborate on what makes this a racist remark?

I was thinking about putting an anti-Obama sign on my front lawn. It wouldn't be anything like the one currently being discussed. A simple "NObama" sign would do.

Do you think those comments were intended to be complimentary? Personally, I have never heard anyone use that term when referring to another person in a positive way. Of course, there are more offensive words he could have used, but to me his message is clear.

You can't pick and choose when it comes to free speech. This man has the right to say whatever he wants in that regard, regardless of whether or not any of us agree with it.

It is not a word that is used here, as Mixed race are generally accepted in both of their parents cultures.

Yes, they generally are, except for the racists.

This is whats wrong with America today.

Petty small minded bigot, hiding his distasteful predjudices behind "freedom of speech" and not caring if the folks around him are offended by it.

Wonder how he'd react to "my neighbours a bigot" signs put up all around his property?

Well, before James T. Kirk was cloned he created contempt for Mr. Spock so it would raise an eyebrow (both figuratively and literally). So when the Kirk-clone went back to the ship he saw Mr. Spock and said to him "shut up Mr. Spock! I am sick of your half-breed indifference!" And of coarse Mr. Spock raised an eyebrow, both figuratively and literally.

Basically, what plucky is saying is that it raises an eyebrow, both figuratively and literally.

He has a right to put the sign in his yard.
Just as he has a right to look pretty darn stupid by doing so.
He's only getting votes for the guy he says he doesn't like.

That would be really great. Makes me wish we could contact his neighbors and give them that idea.

It's true though, the guy has a right to his free speech - even given it's ignorance.

I agree with your post.

The saying "There's no such thing a bad publicity" comes to mind.
