Yeah, it sounds like a passport for the three North American nations, as Stealthsurfer said. I also found out that it's running into delays, even
though production started in july '08. It's delayed at least until June '09, as reported
here. However, there's no way that I think Congress is going to
give up on it completely, simply because once it's passed, they'll be able to "amend" it at any time afterwards.
I've already posted something on the TWIC over in
this thread, which was an earlier
step in pushing the "Real ID" as far as they could after Congress initially shot it down. It's still being pushed, one industry at a time, even as
we type in this thread.
