So I just saw this commercial and it kind of scared me. Besides the blatant propaganda it sounds a little bit like the national ID we all know is coming. I looked it up but what I read was a little hard to understand, not so good with all this legal mumbo jumbo. Here's the commercial:

PS not quite sure how to embed youtube videos so if somebody wants to fix it or just go to the link here it is:

Looks like another stab at the RFID card that fell by the wayside.Oh they are going to get it done one way or another.

Just went to the website the commercial spoke of...

www.getyouhome.gov...

Seems it is just like a passport for Americans and Canadians who are traveling to and from Canada, Mexico, and the US.

Yeah, it sounds like a passport for the three North American nations, as Stealthsurfer said. I also found out that it's running into delays, even though production started in july '08. It's delayed at least until June '09, as reported here. However, there's no way that I think Congress is going to give up on it completely, simply because once it's passed, they'll be able to "amend" it at any time afterwards.

I've already posted something on the TWIC over in this thread, which was an earlier step in pushing the "Real ID" as far as they could after Congress initially shot it down. It's still being pushed, one industry at a time, even as we type in this thread.
