Police said that the items, which include identification cards or documents bearing Fossett's name, clothes and cash, were found in a rugged, forested area near the town of Mammoth Lakes in the eastern Sierra Nevada.

Fossett, 63, disappeared on September 3 last year after taking off in a single-engine plane from a remote Nevadan ranch owned by hotel magnate Barron Hilton about 80 miles north of Mammoth Lakes.

I have always wondered why nothing has ever been found, no plane wreckage. More importantly where is the body?
