I have a rather slow machine here, and find it difficult to play embedded movies. If I can download a movie, or video file and run it from the HDD,
its fine but playing from the net is a pain in the arse.
The latest one I had a problem with was the "My son Peter" movie file linked to from ATS.
Is there any way I can download embedded movie/mpeg/QT files to the HDD ?
Do you mean streaming video? If so I wish I could download them myself, I have a good connection but there's some good stuff out there you can only
watch on streaming that I'd love to keep on the HD. Especially quicktime stuff, I'm not sure if you can do it with anything else.
I think there is a way to hack it so that you can do that, but it's illegal. I'd love to find out myself.
it's possible to do it manually as well.
save the link to the streaming media to your hard drive (right-click save target as) and open it in text mode.
inside you'll be able to find the link to the actual media file that is streamed.
however, this won't work if the file is located on a secured server protocol specifically for airing streaming audio/video.
