Two members of the Soviet Academy of Sciences have recently come up with the theory that the moon is a huge, hollowed-out planetoid that was sent into orbit around our world billions of years ago. They believe that the moon was hollowed out artificially, which means that it was done by some intelligence.

Another Russian scientist, who has studied the moons of Mars, thinks that they, too, are hollow, and that they might be space stations. It seems that the Soviets came to this startling conclusion because the dark part of the moons, which we can't see from earth, is filled with oceans of metallic rock. This hard metal is corrosion-resistant titanium, and we use it in the manufacture of supersonic jets and spacecraft here on earth.

Several American studies tend to agree with the Russian theory that the moon is hollow and that it became so by active interference on the part of some unknown aliens. Unusual activity has been noted on the moon for at least 100 years. NASA admitted recently that a mysterious force on the moon had caused a remote-controlled scientific station set up by astronauts to behave in an unexpected manner.

When NASA crashed the lunar landing craft after the astronauts had returned to their modules, the moon rang like a gong for hours. The speed of the tremors changed after passing through the outer layers of rock, and began to accelerate until it reached six miles per second -- which is the speed of sound traveling through metal.

So it sounds as if the Russians are on to something. But who hollowed out the moon, and why, will have to remain a part of ... the unexplained.……

Two out of five hundred. Impressive.

Deimos and Phobos are composed in great part of titanium? In your intensive research have you found where this is documented?

There is a remote-controlled station on the moon? Documentation?

The claimed period of time claimed for the impact reverberations has been increasing over time. Now it's hours? How about some documentation?

Ah, another Google scientist.
Google is not an end all. i can Google flat earth and get proof of a flat Earth.
Surprise.

I have heard this theory suggested a few times in the past in regards to when the NASA spacecraft was impacted with the moon.

It is an interesting idea to contemplate, it would seem that if a planetoid with a sufficient metalic structure could be found then it would be possible to turn it into a base of some sort.

The natural protection that the metal would provide would make it suitable for that use.
A modification of the internal structure of the planetoid using some currently unknown technology to perhaps cause the "migration" of the metalic core or of the metalic elements within the planetoid to the surface or just below the surface/crust.

Then the rock left inside the planetoid is removed to the surface and fused to the metallic "shell" that was created by the migration.
Use of extreme heat could achieve a fusing effect which could be tested for using sufficient mining explorations.
The dust currently on the surface of the moon could of been collected/created over time from astoroidal and micrometeorite impacts.

Thats the how, now the why.

Setting up a massive base within a planetoid in orbit of a planet such as ours would be a great way of monitoring the progress of a civilisation covertly.

It could also be a more efficient way of creating a large scale space station.
Rather than using what to humans would be a conventional way of creating a space station such as the way the ISS was constructed, another intelligence could use modified plantoids as a way of more quickly creating a massive space station in a minescule amount of time comparative to how long it would take humans using conventional means to create anything anywhere near that scale in space.

It is also possible that another intelligence found a way of using a metalic sphere in an advanced form of space travel.
This is just pure speculation but, suppose we assume that the theory that space-time is curved is correct and further assume that the metalic shell was a pi-perfect.
They could of found a way to perfectly bend space-time around the metalic shell, which given space-time is curved and you cant get a better curve than a pi-perfect sphere then it would make some sense.
Imagine using the sphere to infinately bend space-time around the planetoid effecting some kind field that caused the planetoid to become a non-event in space time or possibly to become space-time neutral itself and from there effect some kind of faster than light travel.

These are only a few ideas i had, the actual possibilities are too numerous to imagine.
The whys, the whats, and the hows of a hollowed out moon are extremely vast to contemplate and speculate, and fun to do so.

It's generally a good idea to post some sources when making such fantastic claims here.

I'll withhold commenting further until they are, in fact, provided.

One other tip--you're opening yourself up to flaming by titling your thread with an unsupported theory rather than a question, i.e., "Is Our Moon Hollow", or "Some Think Our Moon is Hollow".

He opened himself up to derision when he said he found it on teh Google.
Which, hey. I found Abovetopsecret on Google searching for urban legends.
I also found a couple entertainment sites.
Google is not a resource, it's a research tool. You can FIND resources with it.
Maybe pull the address of the sites. At the top of thepage, starts with http.

i herd about that too. i herd that they crashed a spaceship into it and it made a noise like a gong fo 20 mins. therefore i think the moon is hollow.

I myself agree that the moon is hollow.
I tend to also fancy that beneath a seat in an old creepy shed structure that there is a stepped entrance going down to (?) nothingness-and a blue electric etheral dragon who dwells within it, swimming around....

But why?

I hadn't heard that gong theory before, if I had it was 30 years ago as a parody on the gong show.

Just dumped our craft there?-how....rude. We probably got so much trash floating out in space, not even thinking of the concequences or future inconvienience for us or others. It AMAZES me how at times we have slipped into showing the galazy how very uncivilized we are with basic manners while putting our very best foot forward. If your going to leave it-land it up right, please? Right up there with parking strait and not crooked.

"oh by the way....our trash is sceduled to fall from the sky...we don't know where..."

And they call me feral.

Maybe next take someone will share some hollow moon photos: yah think?

...erm, just to fill you in on the last hundred odd years of physics that some here seem to have missed out on;

The Moon has a mean density of 3 346.4 kg/m³, making it the second densest moon in the Solar System after Io

Wikipedia (yes, I know...)

The point being, that we can work out the mass of the moon through it's gravitational relation to the Earth, and if we know it's mass, and can measure it's size, we know that? We know that it's not hollow...

They performed seismic readings using S-IVB stages which showed that the moon is homogenous in a seismic sense, meaning it is very solid and contains no porous rocks or weathering of the crust, therefore it takes a long time for the vibrations to dampen out.

Yes, the moon is hollow IMO. Those are not craters on the moon....THEY ARE SINKHOLES!

Is it generally accepted that the moon is no longer geologically active? I don't know myself. Personally I would think that any object in a tidal lock orbit around another must have an uneven distribution of it's mass, with the heavier side facing inward. To me that would argue for a moon that is at least partially hollow.

In addition, a molten object floating in a vacuum as it hardens would harden from the outside inward. That means at some point there would be a crust thick enough to resist the gravitational pull of the molten mass within.

As the molten mass within hardened further, part of it would adhere to the crust and part of it would contract away from the crust forming a volume of empty space within the crust. Whether that empty space would be one unit or several and whether it would be, itself a vacuum, I have no idea.

My two cents worth. I'm not a scientist.

It made a gong for 14 days not 20 mins... And there have also been reports of strange mists that come out of the backside as well... Along with strange what appear to be thruster type lighting coming from the back side as well... I've done a ton of reading on this subject and if you wanted my opinion, it is hollow... Why it's hollow, don't ask me...

You might also find the hollow earth theory to be of interest... From what I've found on this subject is there is enough proof to say the earth is hollow as much as there is to say it's not, so it's kind of up in the air until someone drills down through the crust, which most likely will never happen...

I had another thought on the subject.

If a body such as the moon hardened in a process like the one I described in my previous post, it is likely that gases of some sort would migrate out of the molten material into the hollow places left as the molten core progressivly hardened itself.

This makes me wonder if this process would account for episodes of outgassing on the moon. Probably yes. But even more intriguing I wonder if this process would have a connection to so-called abiotic oil, thought to form part of the earth's oil deposits.

I haven't researched this topic at all but I have heard mention of the fact that certain Russian geologists believe that some of the earth's oil was formed by some geological process, rather than decaying plant and animal material.

Maybe this process of forming hollows as a planet hardens gives rise to conditions that would start an accumulation of gases in the hollows and eventually the condensation of hydrocarbons.

Hasn't oil been found at levels that are thought to antedate the appearance of plants and dinosaurs on earth. I haven't researched this. Just some random thoughts.

Maybe there is a lot more oil on earth. Maybe there is oil on the moon.

Well, that must be quite recent news. The Soviet Academy of Sciences hasn't existed with that name for 17 years, nowadays they call it the Russian Academy of Sciences. Unless they have changed the name again (perhaps reflecting the recent development in that country)...

I recall reading about this theory in the 80s. Or was it in the 70s. But anyway it was way before the time of any internet forums. At that time there was not very much public discussion of this kind of theories, and they were mostly published in UFO magazines.

However, the Soviets did have many interesting theories that did/do not fit the Western mainstream science too well -- yet...
