I have contacted every office for John Tanner...8th district Tennessee Representative. I have left numerous concerns to every one of his employees that I can speak to about this. All I am told is:

"...I will pass along your concerns."

What a crock! I have even told everyone I know to call him. But I still believe that he will vote yes

Just curious, how much impact does calling about this supposed to have because from what I can tell on my end, your opinion means nothing. I hope it is working out better for everyone else that is calling.

Remember the important thing, is that we did something. THIS was a SURE thing last week, that is until they GOT an ear full from us, which sank this sucker on Monday.

We can sink it again today....

Guess what.....

Today is the big day......if we can get our representatives to VOTE NO, this bill DIES!!!!

I don't think it will come back again if we sink it.

It's looking like passage of this bill is pretty much assured with those who I have seen saying they've changed their vote, but with any luck Pelosi will speak again and piss someone who had changed their vote off (LOL).

The follow up to this, we as an electorate must follow through by not only voting against anyone who votes for this, but by telling our coworkers, churchmember, and group of friends why anyone who voted for this bill has to go. For some, I imagine it will be hard to vote against a person who is a memeber of the party that they most support. Being an Independent I don't have that baggage, but I encourage all to vote against anyone who votes for this. Luckily, housemembers only serve 2 year terms so you will have the chance to throw out the next guy sooner than you'll have a chance to vote for a president again.

Yeah, this Nov. is election time, so we need to spread the word about those that voted YES for this. And kick them-out!!

Stop this bailout now!!! This is nothing but a ploy to get power and rip us, the taxpayers off. Let these companies go bankrupt and let the private sector start rebuilding the economy. It's the only answer!!! Bankrupcy is valuable in a free economy. It cleans out the bad apples. Leave us alone. I will not vote for anyone who has supported this bailout bill.

Thanks for the post Gateway. I haven't heard anyone in the media stick their neck out and say that this stimulus would really help the economy, but many economic analysts are saying it is the wrong thing to do. Why can't our elected officials see/hear this? I think they can, but they are gutless wonders afraid to make enemies in their own party. I'd like to know who if any democrats voted nay.

My U.S.Rep, Todd Akin - MO is opposed so you can bet I sent him an email thanking him. He also voted against the banking bailout so kudos to him and to all the politicians that haven't sold their soul.
