I would like to put my two cents in here...Here is an idea I have had for a while.
Plato describes to us that Atlantis was swallowed up by the water...perhaps they actually wanted to do so.
If you had supreme technology and peace and tranquility wouldn't you want to keep it. Think about it...Aliens are described as grey with large eyes...If a civilization lived under water, they would not be in the sun as much...thus the grey skin, ie.. sharks etc. (all have grey skin) The large eyes would be nescessary to see, since there is not nearly as much light under the water... Another cooincidence is that most space ships are described as using magnetic forces to fly. That could be difficult to do in space, however, it would be a piece of cake (assuming you have the technology) to maintain it on earth. There are many other cooincidences but I believe this is enough to start the thread.

There are ancient Indian writings about a war between the Rama(india) and Atlanian empires. They were both destroyed, the world went into a stone age, and started over. There were supposed nuclear weapons.

They describe very vividly, a venture to the moon, and a battle with an Atlantian space cruiser, and instructions on how to build different vehicals, even manuals on their vehicals.

Sounds interesting to read...

My money is still on Atlantis the continent as South America, and Atlantis the city in the Alte Plano (can't remember the exact name of the region, but something like that). All the clues seem to fit. As for destruction, just the city was destroyed. (great special on one of the documentary channels shows this theory). Atlantis as an ancient culture...sure, but as it pre-dates Egyptians, our inferences are a guess at best. Likely, it was more like the Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, or the Toltecs in culture.

Sure, try-Ancient Indian Aircraft Technology
It is quite interesting. Hitler even visited India for these scripts, and it is supposedly(sp?) where he got the idea for the pulse jet engine in his buzz bombs.

but the poem could also accurately describe a fair sized asteroid impact as well...rather than nuclear war. And, as to texts that are hidden away in some secret place...until they can be seen, they should remain unbelieved... Just a lot of inference there...

Unfortunately for your theory, abductees never sayed that UFO's were full of water.
( Son : Look dady, a UFO ! Father : No son, that's a flying aquarium ! Son : Gee, you're so smart dady ! Father : Yeah, I know son !
)

They are breathing air, like you and me.

I do not say that there is no underwater civilisation. But I don't think that the grey are living in water.

Nurse and Tigersharks, Leopardsharks, etc. Not to mention the rather long and complete fossil record from since before the dinosaurs...

They do not breathe water... They breathe pockets of stored or recycled air. They just have not been on the surface for centuries...Its an idea anyway.

It's not part of any of the Hindu scriptures. It's a hoaxer, who figured folks were too dumb to look up original sources and good translations of original sources.

I dunno bout that exactly, but i've had a theory for years now that civilization always develops to a specific point over a period of time then something happens and kills it and we basically start over. Every time it happens civilization develops a little more and eventually it will develop to the point that the catastrophe can be stopped. I hope we're at that point but i dont know. I think the last one was the fall of the Roman Empire and that time period. (i think that they and the rest of the world was a bit more technologically developed then we think, but not yet to our standards). Maybe a previous one was Atlantis and this Rama civilization?

What I find interesting is that if you look at the Earth without any water on it, it looks like a giant chunk of rock broken off of something of greater mass. If a battle of Atlantis took place, and there were potential nukes involved, consider how Atlantis may look today in the aftermath. I am not at all familiar with where Atlantis is supposed to be, however, I am willing to bet that it was either a small island, or it was a mass of land that upon nuclear attack, broke up and fell off into the sea.

The only thing that I keep thinking is that if there was a race of beings prior to us that had the same tech available to them, we would have found SOMETHING by now.

How can you prove the poem is a hoax? There are millions of these scriptures in India. Could you go through every one of these and tell me it is not there? I think it is. But I think it was a little bigger than a nuke. and It may not have been earth that was hit.

There was somthing about the moon that I read once too. Supposedly the soil is older than that on the earth, and there are some radiation hot spots that could melt the space suit right off you!!

What about the fact that the corpses dug up in some Indian cities are the most radioactive ever found?

That's almost impossible.Only stones can resist to a long time period. Hi-tech stuff don't resist. Bury a microship somewhere, and come back 200 years after. You'll find NOTHING !

Example : A marines is killed on a battlefield. He has with him an M-16/A2,a beretta, a kevlar helmet, night vision system..etc..etc ( many hi-tech stuffs ), but he has also a KA-BAR knife and an old silex lighter.

2000 years after, an archeologue find him. He will find nothing , except his ka-bar knife and his silex lighter. And our archeologue will think that our super-hi-tech Marine had only a simple knife and that he knew how to do fire with a silex stone. Wonder what he'll think if he find him, not after 2000 years, but after 10.000 or even more years.

So, don't think that we 'll find somewhere an old an ancient ICBM silo or an old and ancient air-craft carrier sank there is 20.000 years ago.

We'll find only old stones, but no hi-tech stuff. And if someone find a stone who has a drawing of these old and ancient hi-tech stuff, we'll say : " Hey, that's impossible ! They didn't have these technologies ".

If an ancient civilization did have such technologies, we would find them, because many of the materials used in high technology DO last a long time. Plastics certainly come to mind, after all, that's the big objection as far as landfills, etc. (they'll don't biodegrade, etc.) The only reason that M16 won't be there is because someone will come along and take it...
So, you won't find it near the soldier, but maybe in the ruined basement of a dwelling.

I'm not saying ancient man was dumb...far from it, they had some advanced mathematics, etc. that far outshone those of newer civilizations. However, I don't think their technology was to the point of star cruisers and aircraft carriers. Possibly gliders, but not powered craft.

I take it that the person who said the poems are fakes is an expert in ancient Indian religious texts and sanskrit. anybody with the money can go and get very reliable translations of many of these texts describing incredible events. The reference to the atlantians is however out of place in the indian texts.

Have you even read the report? The indian government has them hidden away so people cannot use them. I don't know why they are hidden, but they are. You would not be able to have free access to them just like every other.
