Ill preface this by saying im a newb. i just finished reading lights out. and im slowly adding to my stockpile of food before bread, rice and everything else costs $1,000,000 due to inflation and the failing dollar. While im not new to the idea of preparing against the governments failure, i am new to taking action to prepare my family.

My question is: Does the US need to fail right now so that we can rebuild better and learn from our mistakes?

Ive had the oddest feeling that this is exactly what our government and people need. With the rampant loss in morality and financial responsibility coupled with the borderline criminal actions of the government et al, wouldnt a clean slate and a total overhaul of the United States be a good thing? We're all living way outside our means, of course by all i mean as a whole. We do not take care of community, state, or country the way my grandparents did. By the way, i blame my moms generation since. Thats what this generation does right. Blame someone else?

Let the damn thing self destruct and WE THE PEOPLE will help build it back to how it should be. Start again with the constitution and learn from our mistakes. Are my thoughts that far out of line with you guys/girls?

Disclaimer: I am in no way shape or form intending to create civil unrest or violent actions to facilitate bringing down the government... I dont think they need ANY help doing that

An openly failed government that became ineffectual would be the best thing in the world for the populace here, especially in light of the other alternatives.

In other words: YEAH!

The trick is getting enough people into the garden my friend to take care of the tree... Hopefully people see or begin to see clearly enough to get truly pissed soon.

I would say that even our grandparents got us to the negitive state we are in today. Its been slow changes from what I've seen. The fed was allowed to print the money in like 1915 so a lot of it goes back. The national debt has never been a real concern for any president and the population doesn't seem to mind.

Even if we let it self destruct, we won't be the ones that rebuild it. It won't be we the people that will build it because it wasn't we the people that caused its downfall. The crap we are becoming more and more aware of was the result of bad (planned that way more than likely) policy.

If we strayed from the constitution once, it'll probably happen again. Government seems to think of the constitution as a joke so I don't think they're going to change anytime soon. And I'm not to optimistic about the majority of the population when it comes to their input in how to fix things. The majority of people in any culture are largely ignorant.
