I have 2 things that I think might be cursed, or haunted. I'm leaning on cursed, because there doesn't seem to be any kind of spirits or anything....but, the items are..odd. There is a story of events that happened to the previous owners, and now me.

One is a crusafix (sp?). A very old one.

The other is an old russian knife.

I'm thinking of getting rid of the items, but I don't want to get rid of something I'd otherwise want to keep.

Any ideas?

Possibly but youd have to elaborate on the stories or strange activities surrounding the items.

My grandmother received a crucifix when my grandfather's uncle passed away. Weird things started to happen - she was held down once my an unseen force. She and her sister wrapped it up and put on the steps of a Catholic church. The weirdness stopped. Just a thought.

Good luck.

Okay...Since I have had one of them...
I have had a car stolen, 1 car destroyed, 3 cars broken down..... Only one was a junk car, the rest were supposed to be good cars.
Lost a job, had a job that stopped paying me, and general bad luck in that respect.

During a move, the truck broke down in a place called Kadoka, South Dakota. In the bible belt, saturday night.

After moving into a safe neighborhood, a bunch of cars were broken into and mine was the only one anything was stolen from.

Seriously bad dreams since I've had one, and more since I got the other.

Basically, if there is any kind of chance something can go wrong, it does.

I have had several people tell me, that looking at the crusafix made them feel uncomfortable. Not that it was a crusafix, but something about that particular one.

I was told the knife was cursed when I got it. The previous owner was about to throw it into a river when I stopped him and told him I wanted it. He said it was cursed, and that he never wanted to see it again. I didn't believe him, and thought it was a neat knife, so I took it with me.

My personal belief is that anything (items or places) that is close to someone (close, as in emotionally attached to, or the cause of an event) during an extremely emotional event can be imbued (i think that's the best word) with a sort of 'emotional residue'.

Anyone else agree with this at all?

The reason I don't want to get rid of mine, is because it came from my great grandmother, and its a family object.

I think she was catholic as well. She was very religious either way.

You could get them exorcised. If that doesn't work, you could always sell them on ebay - they have had some weird stuff there ...

Interesting. Did you get any more story behind the knife? Maybe jsut one fo them is cursed. Try lending the crusafix to a friend, see if anythign bad happens to them. Vice versa, try loanign the knife to someone. If bad things continue to happen to both of you...well, let's figure out whihc, if any, or said objects are truly cursed.

How do you know the ITEMS are cursed? Maybe somebody put a curse on YOU around the same time you acquired them.

I think it could all barrel down to Psychology.
Good and bad things will happen to us throughout our entire lives, they are inevitable. But because u have an object or something that someone said in the back of ur mind that u think are cursed, every time something negative happens, u automatically think and focus on the object and/or the words.
Just a thought

This is getting ridiculous. We can't post in one sentence anymore.

Just when I think there could be no more overzealous censoring, there is more & it doesn't make sense.

This is disgusting. Go ahead. Deduct points for criticizing the no one sentence rule. Pfft.

How about one sentence and a smiley?
Is that OK?

They only true one liner was asking a question that would help move the topic along. I thought the rule was for useless one liners like, "I agree", or"I feel the same way" posts, and bashing.

The one liner here simply states

"Do you have a photo of the said Items?"

Yes it's a one liner, but, it was of value to the topic.

Just my 2 cents.

And I also must agree, a photo would be quite helpful.

A co-worker of mine recieved a blanket from a certain out-of-work telephone "psychic". I won't go into details but this person's sister worked for the "psychic" and they were introduced. The blanket was intended as a house warming gift, but it had some kind of strange effect on anyone it came in contact with. There were problems of the spirit variety until the blanket was removed from the house. The sister no longer works for the "psychic". There are details about the "psychic" I also know, but I'll save it for another thread.
In short, I do believe items can hold negative as well as positive energies.
