I think using terms like that devalues the idea of discussion - and specific problems like integration - when you try to write-off a subject as only being worthy of 'rednecks'. It's not just 'rednecks', or even people that are brainwashed by the media, that are finding cultural clashes with Muslims a genuine issue.

Imagine if Richard Dawkins put out a "fatwa" on Santa Claus.

Then I guess people should not say things that are not only untrue, they are very easily looked up and corrected. Perhaps people should not spout of the blind prejudices against Muslims that permeate the US and its media. Perhaps if people did not say things that you would expect to hear from an intelligent and learned person aware of the world in which they live, I would not call them rednecks or ignorant. But I label my dill pickles dill and the sweet ones sweet. That is just how that works.

I woulda thought that they'd go after Goofy first, being that half the broads on the planet are [snip] goofy.

I have it from good sources that Elmer Fudd and Daffy are setting up camp as we speak. They are all meeting up in South Park. Many are still at Adult Swim but will be there within the hour. The Roadrunner was first to arrive. Snow White and her buddies aren't far behind.

From what I've been told it is a remarkable and historic journey of epic proportions with all the superheroes guarding the path to South Park. Even the local law authority backed off about requiring a permit to organize this huge event.

Mickey and Minnie are being escorted to the meeting by Mighty Mouse. The only problem is with Pluto as he is having an anxiety attack and has been admitted to the local hospital.

It is estimated that within a few hours any and all threats to Mickey Mouse and his family will be dealt with severely.

On a side note it has been most impressive to see the entire Jetson's crew making fly overs along the the path from Hollywood to South Park.

It does my heart good to see all of cartoondome rallaying together to protect one of our greatest characters.

I must end this report now as Fred and Wilma are kindly giving me a ride to the rally. We are, of course, bringing up the rear.

To be fair, I don't see the word "fatwa" used in the Telegraph article, I just see a crazy cleric ranting about one of the many things Muhammad didn't like.

Oh come on ,we're just having a bit of laugh,what nastiness?we're all grown ups (i think)Are you going to tell off the poster who said 'i'm close to alot of Muslims ,anything you want to pass on to them'?I could percieve that as a threat in todays climate if I wanted to.He insinuated I was KKK ,going to do anything about that?This is not the school playground and you don't have to be the school monitor.Some posters took the original idea about a cartoon being evil (whatever) and knocked it around abit.Anyway if you need to know that we're talking about something serious someone brought up Walt's fascist leanings and stuff about banned Mickey cartoons so we learn't something.

Okay ,i understand what your saying,that's why personally I try to use humour when people get insulting which is common when things get heated,so it looks like I'm being vacuous and silly when really I'm just taking the micheal.
