This theory has been the basis of a plethora of programs in computing for years. Why do you think computer chess is effective? The same applies here just on a larger scale.

Also there have been a number of studies on this theory?

I agree everything is hackable. Everyone thought DVD encryption would never be hacked, and it didn't take long for that. Same thing with satellite television, and that was hacked as well. Sometimes it just takes a while.
