Conspiracy Andy Kaufman never died, heres his interview

the site "the real Andy Kaufman" runs is andykaufmanlives.com... and calls himself Stephen Maddox now after allegedly faking his death, and here is an interview done with him just the other day over at The Overnightscape

I'm not convinced, but its certainly very intriguing.

I've been very interested in the Kaufmann lives idea for quite a while and though not at all convinced of its reality, I truly believe that if anyone was going to do it, it would be Andy.

Bit disappointed that the interview you linked to doesn't work though. Was really looking forward to that.

it doesn't seem like the cliffton character is andy at all. much heavier than andy,
plus he didn't have that certain tonal character to his voice that andy had.

That interview link was working yesterday - I listened to almost all of it (it was 2 hours long) - so hopefully it will be back up.

I thought it was pretty interesting overall, though I'm not sure whether I believe him or not. The interviewer made a point of saying he was only about 20% convinced - he even said so at the beginning of the interview to the man who claims to be Kaufmann.

"Kaufmann" uses software to alter his voice throughout.

All in all, it's a good conversation. The first half they go through the known history of Kaufmann and then they move onto what he's been doing since. Basically, for a long time he was laying low, but as time passed and the internet came about, he started to be interested in the new media. He formed the Kaufmann Lives website and began creating online characters to interact with guests on his site.

At one point, he mentioned how the advent of VHS and cheap camcorders had excited him as he envisioned young kids and people making skits and shows passing them around to one another. It never developed at the time, but now sites like youtube have come about and it's all part of the reason why he's reemerged and become active again. Not that he's seeking to come out and say he's alive in some big announcement. He's just doing his thing and letting people think what they will.

I heard a rumor from a pretty reliable source that frank took his own site down. the story i got is that the national enquirer has offered to buy the interview but they want to make it an exclusive.

So... it would be totally classic to have the undertaker bring him back from the dead on Moinday Night Raw as som sort of Revenge plot on Jerry Lawler for costing him the title or something to that effect

It would just be classic because Andy got so much bs handed to him over his wrestling gigs and now wrestling is ridiculously popular

probably one of the biggest audiences he could come out to and Vince has the kind of money to keep him out of trouble for faking his death.

Where have you been man? Didn't you hear of the Movie starring Jim Carey "Man on the Moon" and the hit REM song from the mid nineties? Howabout the Tv s/c Taxi back in the 80's? The Kaufman death is one of the big pop culture conspiricy theories...you should read up on it; he has quite the cult following.

There was a website up for a while by someone whom everyone thought was him calling himself "king". I used to follow it but gave it up after a few years of unmet promisses. The evidence and motive for a faked death by him is very compelling so I tend to think he did fake it and left the country planning to return 20 years after (already passed) and somehow died in that time span and thus no return...or if he did return he came back to a society that moved on and save for the few Andy die hards basically forgot him...still many who were close to him swear it was him in that coffin and that the funeral was in fact real.

Id like to believe this one too, but it does sound a bit far fetched, I wonder is there anyway to know, he does drop a lot of hints in his interview, I might try to get him on my show in the future if I can and see what i can squeeze out of him, I would have to research it fully thought so I can try catch him out, anyone know in depth info on Kaufmann like his grade school teachers names and stuff?

That website that was done is now fully up and running again, so if you missed it check out that interview ... Kaufmann Interview. Kaufmann or not? Either way its compelling stuff, and if its not - well its a hell of an act, why would anyone put that much effort into a hoax, i wouldnt be bothered.

Kuafman might have had his life in danger.

the excuse: that he was surrounded by people who smoked in closed in clubs.

so are we being told that man has a greater chance of catching cancer by breahing in smoke than by smoking?

i would think someone could get a bit sick by breathing smoke but dieing from it? come on!

he must have been like a vacum cleaner sucking it all up to actually die from that.
