Stephen Hawking to unveil strange new way to tell the time

Oh contrare. It is not digital it is purely mechanical. Embellished with a neat little light diode show. I want to thank the two posters who posted the actual operation.

It is actually quite exquisite in its simplicity. The constant tapping of the gear by the grasshopper would definitely drive me mad though.

It is a novelty at best. At 1 million Lira I think I'll stay to my 8 dollar digital casio. Some shiek in Saudi will buy it.

It is beautiful but binary clocks are way cooler.

Just an observation nobody noticed. The guy died calibrating it, in (ahem) 1776 march.. 2 months before the illuminati was founded.. and its got a big old 'insect' on it eating time. (Obviously that bit you know)

I saw an episode of smallville all centered around a society called VERITAS (protectors of the secret of the traveller - superman) and a clock piece that held a secret piece to another puzzle when placed in another grand clock.. and a 'freemason' tried stealing it from Lex etc.. bla bla.

Just found it interesting to add! mainly the 1776 bit!
