hi eveyone im quite new here.....and i just wondered if anyone can help me....

I dont know if you heard about the British Army seeing a UFO flying right infront of their aircraft in Wales, UK a couple of months ago and they apparently recorded it.... it was in the news over here, but then suddenly no one hears anything else about it, they said that some officials in the Army had viewed the footage and it was 'very interesting' and that it had been sent to be analised.......

Probably a long shot but i was just wondering if anyone knows anything...

Use the search function , its the grey box top right hand corner.
Look for threads related to that particular sighting, there may be some follow up to the story.

Was looking for another thread did not find anything. will start looking up news articles and get back. If anyone can find a previous thread that would be great.

You are probably talking about the UFO sighting that took place in Cardiff, on June 8, 2008.

UFO spotted by police helicopter
A police helicopter crew has spotted what is described as an unusual aircraft in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The helicopter was above St Athan, which is home to an RAF base and close to Cardiff International Airport.
But three-man crew could not capture any images before the object vanished over the Bristol Channel on 8 June.
South Wales Police said the helicopter did not give chase and described the crew as very experienced. The sighting has been reported for investigation.
The helicopter was hovering in the sky at 0040 BST above the base, waiting to land.
A police spokesperson said: "The crew are very experienced and responded in a professional manner in relation to what they saw.

In todays skies, there are a wide variety of aircrafts which come in a range of different shapes and sizes and in all probability, this sighting has just confirmed that one of these was in the area at the relevant time,

the spokesperson added.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said it had heard nothing about the incident.

But it is certainly not advisable for police helicopters to go chasing what they think are UFOs,

the spokesperson said.

Cardiff International Airport said air traffic control provided a service to the police helicopter to ensure it had appropriate air space, including allowing it space to return to RAF St Athan to refuel.
Meanwhile, a Cardiff pensioner says he also saw something

peculiar with lots of flashing lights

on the same day.

George Withrington, of St Mellons, said he reported the sighting to police and was given an incident number.

The ex-RAF glider pilot said he was sitting in his garden reading a book on 8 June when he spotted the object at around 1620hrs.

I didn't hear anything else about it and thought it was strange.....

Well there is always 'a logical explaination' for these things isn't there? I just cant believe that this was reported by trained people, and then just brushed under the carpet 'again'

Hi Lyndsay, Im in Caerphilly in Wales, wherabouts are you??
Anyway i remember the case ur on about. But i also remember reading in the Echo that some couple had their wedding that day and in the night they lit balloons as u do............?? on the ground but one 'escaped' lol and apparently this is the object that was being chased. Whether or not its true i dont know. But thats the official story these days.

Thanks for clearing that up for me although I was enjoying being a genius for a while If you want a real laugh,I spotted a stange object far off over the sea today,well, like a good ufo hunter I got my sony handycam with its 40X optical zoom and put it on a tripod and started filming www.youtube.com... as you can see not quite what I was after :lol

im actually in Rhyl in N.Wales but know Caerphilly quite well as i am in S.wales quite a bit with my job and also have family all around there....

yes i know what you are refering to about the lanterns but i think that was a seperate story, apparently the police got a lot of phone calls that evening... and its so funny that this has been mentioned as my sister threw a party a couple of weeks ago and we let some of these lanterns off in the evening in rememberence to some people and when they are quite high in the sky i understand how people can mistake them for ufo's as they do look strange....

To be frank you've got to be basically blind to confuse a pulating ufo orb with a paper bag elevated by a candle. This is the latest weather balloon type excuse. They look different and they move very differently.

I know exactly what I'm seeing............ ufo orbs. An intelligent organic life form that probably lives here and in the sky, most of the time in a dimension not visible to very limited human sight in the available light spectrum, shows intelligence, travels largely in similar 'type' pairs, can communicate with you, can fly at dazzling speeds and acrobatics. I also know what they aren't and that certainly includes silly paper bags with candles inside. Include marsh gas too please.
