I try not to be. I really do. But it is increasingly difficult for me not to be when I see how it is OK for so called minorities to be blatantly racist, but I cannot. ( I'm white in case you haven't guessed by now. )

I see great indiscrepancies in the current politically correct society I am forced to endure. Just watch comedy central for a while. Every time you see any black or Mexican or Asian comedian, the issue of race is a major part of his/her routine. If any white comedian used the same tactic, they are branded a racist and condemned by all.

Organizations like the NAACP or the United Negro College Fund really piss me off. These are race exclusive organizations which are allowed to exist in our PC world. Yet, try to start an organization dedicated to the advancement of "poor white trash" and see how long it lasts.

In my neighboring state of Oklahoma, Indians are given tax free status and allowed to run Casinos. Free land and free health care. All because they are Indian. Gee, I'm really sorry for what was done to you in the past, but I don't owe you anything. And guess what else? I am just as much a "Native American" as you. That's right, I was born in America. That makes me a Native American. Like it or not.

How is it in a country where racism is not to be officially tolerated, that Black Entertainment Television is allowed to even exist? Public figures who happen to be white have had there careers destroyed because they made some racist remark or another. Yet, minorities are allowed to spew their vile racist filth at will.

I feel that there are forces at work within our society whose goals are to foster racism on all levels in order to keep us at odds with one another. Almost like a conspiracy huh?

Racism can never be stamped out. It is natural and normal for the races of man to want to be with his own kind. If left to our own devices, the races will segregate themselves. However, since we all live in a giant melting pot called America. It is imperative we learn to get along.

This can only be accomplished by admitting that we are not all equal. We are all different. Different races have different strengths and weaknesses. Only by acknowledging these differences will we ever be able to get along. We segregate ourselves every day with labels like African American, Asian American, Mexican American, Native American, Arab American. By using these labels to describe ourselves, we foster racism.

It's time to drop all these labels and become just "Americans". Until that happens, I guess I'll just continue to be a racist. It would seem that I have no choice.

Its like anything man...progression comes with a 'pendulum syndrome'...swings from one extreme to the other, gradually the swings decrease untill eventually settling at an equilibrium.

Same thing has/is happening in my country (NZ), it has gone from extreme 'White is Right' to 'Get down with the brown' and back and forth, back and forth, leading (hopefully) to a level where we can all (or at least the main majority) just chill on the whole race thing.

I do know what you mean though...I'm a minority...and frankly it disgusts me to see my own people throwing out such hatred, such racism at 'white people'...to me that is the height of hypocritical behaviour - why? Coz we have felt the sting of racism, we know how much damage it can do...so when we ourselves are perpetrators of it then we, if anyone, should know better.

I noticed this quite extremely at University...the amount of anti-White feeling and undercurrent was disturbing...I would have thought that a University would have been a place of learning, of thought, of INTELLIGENCE...yet there was a core group that seemed to be oblivious to the whole hypocracy of their actions...berating white people for its treatment of our culture/people...yet they are guilty of EXACTLY the same attitudes and actions they find issue with.

The phrase 'reverse-racism' is another thing I have a problem with...racism is racism is racism...be it coming from white, black, brown, yellow, pink or purple person.

Peace,
ALIEN

So... you choose to be racist because others are. How sad.

Certainly, you can also choose to be above such nonsense.

Free land... you mean... they get some of the land that was stolen from them back?

You're saying if you kill people and steal their land, if you can keep it for three hundred years, it's now okay and the original owners now have *no* rights? Wow, China only has another two hundred and fifty years to go in Tibet...

I can not agree, equality can come with out punishment, no need to make whites suffer just because of their past treatments of other races, it should be all are equal, not "blacks are victims this" "Indian land stolen that".

Winston, You alway's have some sort of remark like that toward's everything? I'll bet $100,000 dollar's that you are no different. Even people who claim they aren't racist, are to a certain degree. People alway's tend to stick with there own color. It's been that way since man evolved. I really doubt that you are as much of a good guy as your trying to make yourself seem. Why can't you also add something usefull to a discussion beside's your psuedo attack's to? Might get better response's.

It's interesting, e-nonymous, that you would find negative tone in my post asking someone not to be racist.

How is that?

Certainly, you can also choose to be above such nonsense.

Please do not misunderstand. It is not a matter of choice. The decision is made for me. One cannot rise above this nonsense when one is forced to live in the middle of it. Racism is nothing but irrational hatred. One thing is for sure, hate breeds hate.

Because I hate the hypocrisy of the current situation. I am forced to live with my hate. That makes racism a part of my life whether I wish it to be so or not. If you live in America, it is a part of your life as well. I suppose the only way to rise above it is to cease to care. I wish I could.

There is always a choice.

Your "hate" is an emotional response to your frustration after seeing what you believe to be racism amongst those who cry racism foul the most. Indeed, this situation is cause for frustration.

However, if everyone felt as you did, how could racism find a way to end? Will you fester in your hate, becoming bitter and blaming others for your hate? "Racist" reactions within us are nothing more than an often unwilling reaction to the unknown. You don't "know" the culture of that other race, thus, your unwilling reaction of subtle fear and uncertainty manifests itself as racism.

What if you simply talked to someone with whom you would normally have a racist reaction? You may discover something interesting.

For as long as civilization has existed, this has been the way of nations. To keep your land, you must be strong enough to defend it from invaders. If not, you will eventually by conquered and either enslaved or assimilated. History is filled with examples of this.

The American Indian was a conquered race of people. If we're going to start giving back the land we took, we may as well just pack up and head back to merry 'ol England. I wonder how we'll be received?

You are correct of course. But alas, I am a slave to my emotions. My reason keeps them in check.

By the way, I have a very good friend who happens to be black. We both agree on this issue. Our problem is not with the races themselves. It is with our society which encourages it and our government which enforces it.

The "original owners" are long dead.

What "right" does someone born 40 years ago have to that land? Just because his skin is reddish? He didn't have to face what his ancestors did. In fact, I doubt he even knows of it...

I'm with FM on this...racism will only stop, when one race isn't punished, while others are given "freebies" and preferencial treatment. (i.e. like lowering requirements for a minority for a job or college, just to get numbers up, etc.). Equality can only come from being treated as equals.

Ah, right. do excuse me. You steal people's land, wait until they die in poverty and misery, and then it's legally yours. Foolish of me. So really, China only has to wait until the Dalai Lama carks it.

No because when the 14th Dalai Lama dies, he'll be reborn and rediscovered as the 15th Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama is like the only person on earth who doesn't need to pass things down to his kids

Man I wish people cared enough about me to find me in my next lives
