There's no 'God particle' either. It's just Chuck Norris' way of round housing the laws of physics.

Did you know?...

The Higgs boson was created when Chuck Norris was born.

and

Stephen Hawking can talk normally, it's just that Chuck Norris told him to "Shut the hell up!"

edit- In retrospect, you could add a "sit down" there, but that might be a bit OTT.

Ok, I'll stop making up Chuck Norris facts now, but it is fun.

I'd prefer the Jack Bauer Particle Killing Machine over Chuck Norris, but that's still pretty funny.

Jack Bauer Facts

Maybe "Collosally Huge Defenseless Particle Annihilator".

OK, guys, this has been fun, but we really need to post a comment about the article and avoid the one-liners.

Don't want to end up having to move this to BTS.

------------
I think they are at least being sensitive to the negative press they're getting and they're trying to 'humanize' the device.

Unfortunately, people want to know about the science and the safety and not be mis-directed into some kind of silly naming contest.

What do you guys think? Is this a ploy? Is it working?

Oh definatly, this $4billion project, has gathered a fair amount of negative Press. And they are just playing a game with people to keep them amused, while they get on with buisness.
