I found this page and thought I would share. There are some beautiful and most definitely strange looking things. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing these images with us.

I find these trees just amazing. They look like giant mushrooms!

You are most welcome. I encourage others to post other unusual earthbound images that fall in this category.

I am taking you up on that offer, and post an image of the fantastic Giant's Causeway in Ireland. It’s an area made up of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. The steps are the result of an ancient volcanic eruption.

Those mushroom trees resemble foliage seen in mars landscape images.

Nice images from a strange terrestrial land.

I don't have any pictures to add I just want to keep this thread going...star and flag! Very interesting photos, indeed. Sometimes people forget that our own planet isn't so boring after all.

Thank you for keeping it going. I would like for people to continue to contribute. Not just plants, but "alien" looking landscapes too. As the thread grows with more examples, I like to imagine each of these elements (plants and landscapes) jumbled together, so as to imagine how bizarre life and landscapes on other inhabited planets will be at a MINIMUM. Thanks for the star and flag! I will continue to add more as I find them and as time allows.

Wow! Really cool pictures!

Sometimes, the weirdest things are right out in our own back yard!

Peace,

To me that cactus tree is not bizarre. There are tons of them here in Aruba. In my old highschool there was/is (should be still there) a huge one.
