On September 9, 2008 it was reported that at least one member of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative Party is a member of Opus Dei.[5]

en.wikipedia.org...
Also in the Gazzette....

Running a member of the ultra-Catholic, ultra secret group Opus Dei as a candidate is proof that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Conservative party are narrow-minded right wing ideologues who would take away a woman's right to choose
www.canada.com...

How far right winged is Harper? Allowing a open Opus Dei member to run displays how far!

I find this filled with intrigue!

Just a note to add to this dead thread...Tony Blair joined the Roman Catholic Church.

www.guardian.co.uk...

After 30 years as a closet Catholic, Blair finally puts faith before politics

His spiritual awakening goes back at least 30 years, to his time as an undergraduate at Oxford, but due to political considerations Tony Blair's conversion to Catholicism has been a long time coming

He is the Middle East Envoy for...
....

On the day he stood down as Prime Minister and MP, he was appointed official Envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East on behalf of the United Nations, the European Union, the United States and Russia.

He may head up the EU..www.thesun.co.uk...

Tony Blair for EU President?

Remember the deal between King Henry and Pope Innoccent!!

I don't really think it matters if this guy is Opus Dei or not. As long as he represents his people it is a moot point. I am sure there are people in all the parties that have some eccentric views on things, can we hold that against them?

It seems to me that we are gearing up for a full course culture war.

ie. 1. The Palin pick for VP vs Barrack's ticket
2. The extreme Right Wing Harper (CAN PM) goverment vs Liberal, NDP
3. The whole race issue with Democrats vs Republicans
4. The whole women issue with the Democrats vs Republicans
5. The peacniks vs the Hawks
6. The economic meltdown for many
7. ...and the country is a t war to boot

We are about to be in full out culture war and now we have the Right Wing lining up with the Catholic Church while the US Senator BHO sort of "looks like" a muslim..(I use the words "looks like a muslim" only in the Carl Jung archtype way..not in our present reality)

Culture war.
