Yes Moon, No Hubble?

First off, hello to you all.
I am new here and I am happy to see the wealth of information I see here.

I have been wondering since I heard about the cancellation of the Hubble Space Telescope program, why?
What I mean is I thought that Pres. Bush is ordering a multi-billion dollar expansion of the U.S. space program, which, from what I've heard, is to include a series of missions to the moon (w/possible moon base) and even a manned mission to mars.
Then why scrap hubble? I'm no astronomy buff, but from I hear the Hubble has been an invaluable tool in the astronmy field and that some of the most amazing photos of outerspace have been taken with it.
I'll leave the question open if anybody wants to reply to it.

Think about how long it took to download porn in the early 90's. The hubble is quite a bit older (older than me). Let's give it a graceful exit.

It's quite interesting isn't it...I mean how we do things. The hubble has given us amazing pictures and new finds, and I think we should spend the money to upgrade it instead of rushing off to mars and building moon bases.

Did everyone forget about the Chandra observatory? The thing that is replacing the hubble? The thing that is better than the hubble? Don't get me wrong, the Hubble has done a great job. Now its' time has come.

chandra is already (and has been for quite awhile). it's just used for x-ray and other similar wavelength photos. a replacement for hubble goes up in 2016, or there abouts i believe.
