I really appreciate your understanding SpookyVince. Thank you very much for that. And thanks again for posting an excellent explaination of the keys. Those are exactly the sort of contributions I was hoping for in this thread. You're outstanding, my friend!

You didn't even figure out the keys and you got it?! Way to go, Fox! I'm seriously impressed. Great team work, btw.

WOW thats amazing Spooky!!! Seriously.

I would never have solved those keys and it is a credit too you, if by anymeans I could give you the reward you deserve, then I would.

In all seriousness, you rock.

Too tell you all the truth, I umm'ed and ahh'ed for awhile as too whether there was ABSOLUTE PROOF for posting the answer considering it was a culmination of TW and ciphering.

Though the ultimate aim is too decrypt/decipher a given problem with what ever information becomes available (and by any means I do not include computer based AI... keeping within the spirit of the game) I saw it as a matter of working through the information that was relevant and that which fitted in with the design of the clues or superfluous information given.

I understand that this instance may invoke a revision of the rules and that is another reason for erring on the side of caution in regards to me posting the answer, but considering the circumstances, I do feel as though it should be noted that I would delegate points or credit too you all for the work you have all done.

Sorry.

And thanks.

Thanks Celt

Too be honest, when you cracked the first of Statics 'ciphers', I was REALLY, really impressed and I still am (and a little jealous..
) With how fast anyone grasped the key, I was amazed.

You saw something in that cipher that no one else did, also with the second(?)

This is by no way intended as an insperation booster post, but simply a post saying that "I like cabbage" and the way you view things.

Christmas cheer TOO you all.

Fox.

Thank you for your kind words. I really feel like I get lucky when I figure it out. The first one (with the numbers) clicked because I had just started reading about basic encryption techniques on, of all things, the NSA for kids site. They had a similar one there to the one Static used.

The rest...was luck, pure and simple. There's no other way to explain it. I WISH I could say I was that good. Then I'd be good at one thing!!!

To everyone reading, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, and Happy Festivus (for the restofus
)

In 10 minutes, "21" goes to 600 points. Here's your first clue.....

***The cipher is missing something pretty important. It has to do with the name. Good luck everyone!

***There is only 1 key at play, but the first clues were to help you spot a little curveball I've thrown your way. Good luck all and thanks for playing!

The vowels are missing here, folks. I've entirely left them out. But it's also the season for giving. So tomorrow night, I'll give them back. Cheers all. And good luck!!!

"21" is at 1100 points in about 15 minutes or so. Tonights clue, the vowels, as promised.

"21" is at 1200 points. A clue for tonight.....

***Other than the curveball I through you and subsequently gave back, this is really the very simplest of all ciphers, and the first that most people ever learn. Just goes to show how a little tweek in the code can send everyone in a hundred different directions. Good luck everyone!!! Thanks for playing.

happiness isn't getting
what you want
it's wanting what
you've got

How does that work?

1. Remove all vowels from the alphabet (y is still considered a consonnant apparently)
It gives this:
B C D F G H J K L M N P Q R S T V W X Y Z
Number those, in this order. B=1, C=2, etc.

2. Translate the numbers of the code into letters. It gives this:
hppnsssntgttng
whtywnt
tswntngwht
yvgt

3. Replace the given vowels properly in the text, and arrange so that it's beautiful:
AIEIEIAOUAIAIAOUEO mixed in becomes:
happinessisntgettingwhatyouwanttswantingwhatyouvegot
then utimately:
happiness isn't getting
what you want
it's wanting what
you've got

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

Congratulations SpookyVince!! Is this maybe a bit of karma for your help on the last one? 1200 points will find you soon. And as always, great job showing how you did it!

I'm thinking boxing day (26th), I'll try to post a new clue. We've got loads to do with family over the next 2 days but I should be able to come up with something. Thank you all for playing and....

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all, my friends! Be safe and have fun! Cheers!
