Community organiser? And?

Obama as we all know, was a community organiser. So what?
Isnt a community organiser nothing more than a fairly low level political operative for a politicval machine? Isnt thier job essentially to get people together to either
a) demand money of someone or thing
or
b) get something unliked outlawed?
Forgive me for being a blood drinking, baby eating, puppy kicking, poorman hating conservative but frankly, So what?

Whats the big deal with being a community organiser?
