Since the Spring Equinox is Saturday, how do Wiccans "celebrate" this event?

I know you guys on abovetopsecret.com may be new to the idea of search engines... but I gotta say, many questions that are asked on the board can be answered within seconds by a quick google lookup. This includes the initial inquiry of the first post of this thread

Just an idea..

Thanks for the website. It was great and very interesting. I live in the south and we have festivals for almost every fruit and vegatable there is! And, of course, Mardi Gras, which is so Catholic! I'm starting see how many Christian traditions are related to Paganism.

Depends on which tradition you are, and whether or not you're a solitary.

Covens will generally do a sabbat circle at the time, and special spells may be cast to bring individuals prosperity or luck or fertility (coven members. Current thinking is that we do not cast spells on others.) There may be dancing and a feast.

Large public celebrations are also held; generally these feature a speaker, a "healing" for Mother Earth type circle, and public ceremonies such as consciousness raising. Often these have some sort of psychic fair attached to them with music, storytellers, card readings, jewelry, books , and so forth.

Solitaries celebrate in different ways. In general, we set up an altar to the gods/goddesses (single or plural) of our tradition, light candles, and meditate.

If we're rushed or busy, we simply look up as we step outside and take half a second to enjoy being alive and being part of the Earth.

Byrd,

Are you a Wicca or just very knowledgable on the subject?

While I'm not Wiccan myself, there are a lot of good sites out there. You might want to check out the FAQ at www.alt-religion-wicca.com... for starters.

I realize there are numerous websites and books available. I'm only asking because may of these contradict each other and I'm looking for first hand experiences.

While I follow no religous path, the Wiccan religion, in my opinion, seems like best one out there.

" wiccan sems to be the best path "

why cause you get to do cool stuff like put spells on people?

I had a spell put on my by a pagan on this website two years ago. I gues its a good path because its seems easy and fun imo.

peace.

Yes, Wicca is pretty coll, though not my cup of tea. The people are real nice, though I don't tend to agree with them on most areas.

This is the most comprehensive Wiccan site:

Witchvox

I tend to lean more towards Asatru, the old Norse/Germanic Religion.

be well

Why? Maybe simply because it isn't full of deceiving lies like most mainstream religions.

Actually, no that's not what it's about Truth. Might wanna educate yourself out of your happy little christian box...

WOW Truth. It seems you picked an extremely poor Screen name. If this is the way you view Wicca, it is absolutly no wonder the Kristjans have been killing pagans for so many years.

I believe a little research on your part would be of the utmost importance to you.

Just another religion thread that a religionist got posted and should be moved. Religious discussion and conspiracy are a bit different. But then what can I say, just words in a post.

How about you petition to become a mod if you think you know everything so well?

It's people like you that take away from the credability of this community. If you don't like a thread, don't read it and don't post on it. The mods and Admins have said this many times and still people will not listen. Get it through your brick skull. Begone.

I have been watching ET3s posts on this board and he does make a valid point across this Conspiracy in Religion and Spiritualism section. Wicca is a cult-religion and celebrating or discussing a season their style is not a conspiracy issue.

It must a problem with people and their ideas of what a conspiracy is, it seems they have no idea or real concept of conspiracy.

If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
