One thing has always puzzled me about aliens and their appearance on or aroung this planet.

Now I know these questions are highly speculative, and there probably is not a correct answer, but I'd just like to get some input, some theories.
In order to get to Point B, you have to start out at Point A. So when these aliens climb into their spacecraft, star ship, flying saucer... whatever they use to traverse the universe, do they spcifically come here to Earth? Or does this planet just happen to be in their flight path, and they decide to check us out? If they are many light-years away from us (If I'm not mistaken, Alpha Centauri is about 4 or 4.5 light years away, and I don't know if any Alpha Centaurians have come here), do they have Warp drive a la Star Trek, or do they use wormholes?

Somehow I think these aliens are explorers, and Earth just happens to be one of the planets to be explored. I can't imagine them leaving their world specifically for Earth. Besides, considering the distance, and the time involved, wouldn't many months or years pass on their planets before they returned? Or do they sacrifice everything in order to explore 'strange new worlds and new civilization'

Yeah, I know, a lot of speculative questions. But I'm the curious sort, and this enquiring mind wants to know your thoughts.

I just found this thread. So don't say I'm not interested.

That is an interesting thought. To wonder if we aren't just in some flight plan and not really a main stop. ( But then again, like Disneyland - maybe we've become some type of "tourist" attraction? )

I'm sorry. It's just that when someone posts something, before the day is done, there are dozens and dozens of replies. So I was just wondering if this thread was interesting enough.
I had a few thoughts in mind, and I posted these thoughts, and I just wanted people to agree with me, or disagree with me, or put their own spin on my thoughts.
Again, sorry if I sounded upset. It's been one of those days.
