Hurricane Season and Weather Patterns

Hi all...


Just wondering about these hurricanes.

was Katrina the first one to ever hit New Orleans?

and have the hurricane paths/weather patterns changed lately or something?

Maybe my memory is bad but I remember it used to be ONLY Florida, The Keys and SOMETIMES the southern part of the Eastern Shore or the USA that had to worry....


my questions only apply to the hurricanes that form in the Atlantic cause I haven't paid much attention to the Pacific ever.
