Hitler's Butt Ban

www.americanchronicle.com

Of course, I am aware of the reactions this article with bring about, the dangers of smoking and second hand smoke are pushed heavily by all media and we accept it without question. It is said that there are 400,000 premature deaths caused by smoking in the United States per year, but did you know that if a smoker dies at 92, it is still considered premature because he smoked? In an analysis of ages of those 400,000 deaths computed by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) SAMMEC (Smoking Attributable Mortality, Morbidity and Economic Costs) program shows some interesting numbers. Smoking "victims" lived longer than non-smokers, by about 2 years - 71.9 vs. 70. Over 70,000, 17% died "prematurely" at ages greater than 85. Only 1900, or 0.5% of smoking "victims" died at ages less than 35, while 143,000, or 8% of non-smokers died at ages less than 35, mostly due to auto accidents and drug abuse.

I am amazed at the number of folks, especially folks that spend time on conspiracy boards that automatically accept the smoking propaganda. Usually they say, I smell it on my clothes after a night out. As though they do not have to wash their clothes like everyone else. What the hell. I wear my clothes for a day, I wash them, why do non-smokers think that they can wear their clothes day after day and they will not stink unless they come in contact with a smoker?

Hitler is actually behind the Butt ban

apparently he came to the US after the war and started forming a Third Reich assault on American freedoms

He started the antismoking bans, formed mothers against drunk driving and shot up some gang members from his wheel chair back in the 90's before he finally died to help push an anti gun laws

Don't know about Hitler, but we all know many folks from that era got a free ride to America to do what ever that were created, paid or coerced to do. Was that a one line post?

Smoking ban's have nothing to do with Hitler nor scent on non-smoker clothes while clubbing. There is a real health risk with inhaling ANY smoke. Smoke create tar wich block your lung's from receiving enought oxygen. I got chronic bronchitis due to smoke and genetic making me vulnerable to smoke related disease. Sure not everyone got health problem due to smoking but those that got know for sure that smoking kill and make your life miserable. (think puking tar every morning for 3 month each year, that's what i got.)

Hate to be a hard head, but how do you know it is attributed to smoking? Is that what a doctor told you? Have you smoked for years? Seems doctors, once they know someone has smoked, put it in all the files, but that does not make it truth.

Lots of unhealthy stuff out there, how do you know that the cause of your problem is smoking?

Well, I'm going to put my two cents in.

Smoking has been proven to decrease the effects and even prevent (in some cases) dementia, neurosis, and Alzheimer's.

I've always said, I don't mind dying one day... but I'm scared to heck of the possibility of losing my mind.

Smoking keeps me calm and collected. I can think clearer after a smoke... before becoming a smoker, I had no patience. I simply couldn't focus very well, and often ended up getting into fights because I took things way too seriously.
... since I started smoking, I haven't broken a single jaw, or knocked anyone out. In fact... I've become quite the pacifist. Not to mention, I can calmly approach any difficult situation rationally, and come to an effective solution... meanwhile everyone around me is acting like chickens with their heads off.

I don't want to go back to the angry, attention-less person I was before.

What I can't stand is how many people walk up to me and say "You know you shouldn't smoke, it's bad for you!"
I usually reply with...
"Since I started smoking, I haven't broken a single jaw... do you really think it's wise to be telling me to stop?... smoking may be bad for me, but getting in my face about it is suicidal."

I know it's smoking related, do a simple search on chronic bronchitis or Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease like they call it and you see it's smoking related. Heck i even stopped smoking and symptoms are less harsh and can go away. Stop denying the evidence. I smoked for over 10 years and not only cigarettes.

Didn't Native Americans smoke tobacco? I don't recall hearing about Indians having a high cancer rate. They say cigarettes cause cancer, but sometimes I wonder if the "studies" really narrowed it down to the tobacco or not.

They put a lot of other sick, disgusting junk in those things that I would imagine could explain all the negative side effects and health issues even without the tobacco being present.

Have any of these studies addressed that point?

this thread reminds me of a skit on Conan....

A nazi offers hitler a cigg, he refuses.... then the words

Be Like Hitler: DON'T SMOKE!

Hitler also wore trousers - should we ban them?

Just because Hitler did something doesn't make it inherently bad. He was a vegetarian - should we force-feed vegetarians bits of steak? Hitler also had a dog - should having dogs be illegal? He also had a military - I guess by your logic we should get rid of all militaries.

Come on, get a grip!

very intresting ..

i dont get how the anti smoking messages and propeganda these days are just propeganda .. why would the government (im talking uk here )spend so much money on stopping people from smoking, and also making a serious effort in getting the population to stop smoking if it was really good for them ?

do you realise how much money ciggarettes make from tax revenues teh governments would lose if everyone stopped smoking or they completly banned it ?? its kind of a contradiction if that is the case.

(the same goes for alcohol .. 2 of the most dangerous drugs on the planet and their legal, mainly as govenments make a fat bit of cash from them)

That is so funny, I would suggest you keep smoking. The medical community may not like it, fixing those jaws probably beings in lots of bucks!

I'm not denying the evidence, but I certainly am questioning it. Deny ignorance and all that. Doctors don't have all the answers and instead of investigating further if they find out you smoke or have been around smokers they immediately attribute all illness to smokers. That ain't right. Peace, glad you're feeling better.

Did you read the article? I just find it interesting that Hitler was in charge of the most successful smoking ban and now we are ripe in another. Not because secondhand smoke causes any problems, but, maybe, because aesthetically it is unpleasing, doesn't fit into the powers that be's view of utopia.

The bottom line is it is a choice and in America, land of the free, we should have choices. Even if said choice will bring about our demise, we should still be able to make our own choices and not have the government decide for us.

OK, maybe some doctors are crooks but not mine. My cousin a doctor, he came to the same conclusion than my normal from what i said to him, and he smoke also. Why would my cousin lie to me ? And we live in canada and he work with native american in a hole in the north, they ain't cash crazy mongers like in the us, they are there to help people. They didn't prescribe some meds, they just told me to stop smoking and get fit or get oxygenotherapy. And what would you say to the parent of one my friend that died from pneumonia at 15 years old because he smoked while in the hospital.

And like I said in my first post It's not only the smoke from cigarettes that is bad but ANY smoke. It's like chemtrail, do you think the smoke they put in the air is good ? I've seen chemtrail were there wasn't those trail in the air last year. And they are not contrail, I'm in a high air traffic area, the planes descent to the airport that is near, they don't make contrails at that altitude. And the chemtrail last for more than 3 hours and lower altitude and become bigger with time.

Ok, maybe there some circumstance that led to my disease, ( like cleaning an industrial oven in a bread factory, even if I wore a mask i would have black matter in my nose. But i didnt do it every day, more like every 2 or 4 weeks, i told the boss i didn't want to do it anymore and he finally gave the zomboni job.) but those circumstance just helped my disease that was mainly from smoking. ( other people that suffered the same treatment, lived in the same area, didn't become sick because they were not smoking. )

Because it's just another ridiculous conspiracy theory people cling to so they can feel superior. There is no evidence behind it. None what-so-ever. They seem to think that if one person can live a really long life, and smoke continuously, that somehow everyone can do the same. That is not sound thinking, but bordering on the insane.

You can safely ignore this rubbish

I totally agree with you and I will refrain from posting on this thread because this is totally rubish conspiracy theory. That is the kind of conspiracy theory that make us look like idiots.

This ain't really breaking news, the article was more like blog giving the personal opinion of the writer. There was absolutly no real fact.

Smoke if you want, I will never say to someone that smoking is bad for them because I did smoke and it is highly addictive, even more than ANY other substance we have on the market. If they can't accept that smoking is bad then it's their choice and it's a know fact that careless smokers are more likely to develop smoking related disease.

I must say that this was the first time I posted anything on this site because this subject was touching me and I tought it was totally BS. I also stopped doing the 420 and I am less paranoiak to show my opinion. Been lurking for a long time on ATS and I really like this site, It's the best there is on the net and i plan to parcipate more on here for better subject.

I would have thought the smell of tobacco preferable to the smell from the crematoriums?

Yeah, Hitler was a non smoker and a vegetarian, but, supposedly had some STD that he needed bizarre drug therapies for. Strange how this sounds so similar to John Kennedy also? I recall having met a much older Hitler around 1961 without his mustache. According to some other reports; Adolf's butt was still smoking and smoldering when the Russians found him?

To put it simply - its true.

Why do people buy the propaganda to need to wash their clothes after one time wearing them? (Good for wearing them out as well as for buying detergent.)

Also, I dont like the smell of smoke.
When what you do infringes on someone else...aint cool.

Peace

dAlen

p.s.
Reminds me of my neighbors:
Last night they had music so loud it could be heard with the windows shut...going well into the night. Of course they dont give a flip.

Had this been Austria, our neighboring country, it would have been illegal and called noise pollution.

Why should I have to hear their party when Im wanting to sleep around midnight?

Think about it - selfish really.
