Thank you for posting the video - I really enjoyed it!

Sorry you didn't find the portal, do you think you'll try again some day?

A couple ideas occurred to me while watching the video:

If camping is allowed in that area you might see if you can get up there with gear for a night or two, and that would give you more time to explore.

Also, if you could get a drone with a camera (even toy stores carry things like that these days), it could help to have 'eyes in the sky' to spot areas that might not be visible from any given viewpoint -

- you might even spot a 'hidden' canyon or ravine or something that can only be seen from the air..

There's a real time portal for you in Arizona, all right, just be careful. However, this time portal is hallucinagenic and is in consciousness and percieved reality.

Exactly! This "factoid" is the reason that I do believe, and the reason why I doubt.

Ha! Didn't realize how old this thread is until after I posted.

at this point I would like to help someone as interested as I was in this subject to reach the final destination that I was unable to reach (mainly due to the lackluster crew I was with). I now know the area fairly well, how to get there, and what to have prepared. MY PLAN was to camp on the mountain and spend several days there. However not a single person with me agreed to that plan. I like to have at least one other person with me, this place is extremely dangerous due to drug smugglers and other illegal activity. It is also extremely easy to get lost or turned around out there. To answer your questions 1. I doubt I will try again some day... I'm now frustrated with this fruitless quest.

2. I HIGHLY recommend camping on the saddle. I had all the gear but none of the peer support. You will notice in the video I left them behind and spend 1/2 the day journeying alone. do not underestimate the hike... it is brutal.

3. I think the drone idea is brilliant, it could cover so much more ground that I was able to. However in rhetrospectif I was to do this again, I would enter in a different route. I have exact coordinates to the portal and I see several trails leading nearby. I have to wonder if a vehicle could not park somewhat closeby, negating the need to climb all of these mountains

noooo there is an actual tangible archway if not DOORWAY on the side of one of these mountains. I have pictures of it. Whether it is a magical portal of sorts obviously is speculation most likely fantasy. Regardless I aimed to prove or disprove it. (and failed so far...due to the environmental challenges)

I think you are very smart to make sure that you have at least one other person with you if you ever decide to try another trip out there.

I hope you won't give up on the idea entirely, you've put a lot of time and passion into the endeavor so far, and certainly gained valuable insights along the way that will make a future try more effective...

...and you never know, if you just keep the desire in mind - keep researching and considering possibilities and talking about it with new people who have interest in that sort of thing - you could end up meeting just the right person/people with the right skills and degree of enthusiasm to venture a camping trip out there, which could turn out successfully.

You know, synchronicities have a way of happening to bring such goals to fruition, as long as you stay open to trying again and especially if you take time now and then to focus on the details (really visualizing) of 'how' you would go about doing it if you could choose the ideal circumstances for another try..

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, so if 'things' start coming together in a promising way (you'll know by the synchronicity) please post updates!

Best wishes!!

The Portal Ron Quinn describes is in the Tumacacori Mountains in south central Arizona. I led an expedition there about 5 years ago to search for the site. These are very rugged and dangerous mountains, and contain many routes for drug smugglers from south of the border. Even 5 years ago we felt threatened in this area and had encounters with illegal immigrants. I heard on the news a man was killed by smugglers while hiking in these mountains within the last month or so. Do not advise exploring this area unless at some point in the future, the U.S. gets control of its borders.

a reply to: skeptikal1 unlike blind expeditions, I have the exact GPS coordinates but the crew I brought with me was NOT up for the challenge of the treacherous grind... I mean hike. I kept going until I was several miles away and just a spec in the distance as viewed from a companion who was watching me from a mountain peak. it just is too dangerous to continue on alone in my opinion. also we were all armed, I normally NEVER bring weapons on any of my paranormal journeys, however as skeptikal1 pointed out... this trip is ripe with illegals and armed smugglers. Perhaps there is a reason why this little gem is so secret.... and why I wanted to find it so badly.. the route to get there can really challenge a man/womans fortitude on many levels.

I could lead a expedition if I had the funding to do it... it would require much better maps, trucks loaded with several ATVs. I am almost positive I could highlight a route that would bring us less than a mile from the site(S).

Thank you so much for all of your hard word and information!!! I would LOVE to go out there but I am on the other side of the US. Hopefully you will find someone who has the desire and is willing to put the effort into with you!!! Please keep us updated if you head out again.

As a fellow explorer of this area, ( and a number of interesting and unusual sites in the southwest) I would like to exchange information with you. would like to see some of your pictures and perhaps some of the GPS coordinates you have worked out. I have some clues of my own that seem to fit with much of Ron Quinn's material, but which I was not able to fully explore on our past expedition. Like you, i have had difficulty putting together a group of people interested or willing to go into the mountains to search for this site.. would like to discuss with you of organizing well equipped expeditions into this area.

a reply to: skeptikal1 can you contact me? Best way to reach me is at my website www.skinwalkerranch.org and hit the contact button for my email address. I'm open to exchange all of the information I have on this... especially the coveted GPS... I'd love to compare notes. I have 3 GPS spots 1 is it.. I was able to reach none of them due to my crew and the distance from the car. If you've been out there you know how important planning is. I wanted to camp out there, but my city orientated crew wasn't at all compliant on that idea

I might be able to help you, Southern Az has been my backyard my whole life.

The area you are searching has a very high western diamondback
population. Be more afraid of the scouts on the hill tops than the drug
smugglers. A few years back a hiker found a partially buried bag of guns in
the Santa Ritas. Location might be the wildlife refuge, no go for camping.
If you do camp, camp at your vehicle and day trip your separate locations.
Google Earth Pro is Free- GEPFREE is the license. I will look through my
fathers old Topo maps see if I have one of the area, he was a ghost
town hunter at your age. Topo maps dated around 1963 will be your best
bet. They will show all the jeep trails and prospects that have since been
deleted in newer maps.

I would like to help you look further but, Late January is the best time to
search that area due to temperature and snakes. I'll give you my contact if
you ask for it. I'll watch your video so I can get better location information
of your search.

Peace

Interesting thread, a story I read is that a true Indian shaman's war paint is two zigzags on either cheek, to depict that he has been struck by lightening. In the modern anecdotal tales, Many people who have been struck, have claimed enhanced psychic ability, If people actually disappear through some sort of " time portal" it would require energy and theirs plenty in a lightening strike. It would definitely switch the neurons around like in a mega dose of ECT. I think the OZ effect is caused by a build up of static, as personally I remember standing on a long pier that went about half a mile out to sea when this strange effect built up. Tales of time tunnels and people disappearing during lightening storms are legion so indeed their might be something in certain places with raised stones attracting this type of effect.

I have heard of those stories and witnessed
some great lighting events. My interest is
more towards the multi-verse side of events.

If the multi-verse exist then most paranormal
events could be explained. If the Book of life
contains every event and a page for every path
that can be taken, then the portal might be an
interaction between our known universe and a
and one of many parallel universes.

Southern Az does have an extremely high
lighting strike rate during the monsoon season.

I went back and watched your video for your
location. Looks like you guys hit the range
from the north and started close to "big tank".

My suggestion would be to enter the range
from Rio Rico, head west and pick up a FR
until you encounter rough terrain. That will
put you east of your last visit closer to "hells gate".

You would have only spent 30 minutes of travel
time from I-19 at the most.

Yes its very interesting, I think certain locations seem to attract paranormal occurrences, I started a thread about the strange disappearance of Peter Williamson, in Somerset back in 1974, he disappeared in a flash during an electrical storm , his friends and wife called the police. He claimed he spent some time in a hospital, before he turned up three days later with one foot in a pond . The hospital existed but the nurse and doctor when interviewed hadn't admitted him. So it seems he was whisked of to another reality for a limited amount of time. If people disappear, then its no stretch of the imagination to say that they have to appear somewhere. Same goes for Bigfoot.

to put some context to your story

Somerset, England, 1974 - On July 28, Peter Williamson was having a barbecue in his backyard garden, which was interrupted by a heavy electrical storm. His dog, spooked by the threatening atmosphere, cowered under a tree. Peter went to rescue the animal. There was a bright flash - and Peter vanished into thin air! Police were called and a thorough investigation and search were conducted, without success. At 8 a.m., three days later, Peter was found in some nearby bushes with one foot in a pond - as if he had just appeared there out of nowhere.

anyhow, anyone interested in actually making the hike, must convince me they have a serious plan in place and timeline to do it, I'm happy to provide the GPS coordinates, directly from Ron Quinn to a another source to gave them to me.

also yes it may have been easier to reach the location from Rico Rico.. this was my second attempt. On a third attempt I have a route that I think would bring me directly there. again a ATV would be extremely helpful to reaching the location without scaling mountains.

Convince you? I offered my help. I learned how
to swim at Pena Blanca Lake at 6 years old(1974),
Have hunted mule deer and javalina in the
same mountain range as a teenager.

My advice is to write down the GPS #s and
burn the paper. An android phone with no service
and google maps would have gotten you within
12 feet of your GPS #S ,and you could have geo
tagged your last trip.

I mentioned a few post above that Google
earth pro is free. The whole area has been
geo tagged when you look at that mountain
range.

Quinn said he entered the canyon from the east.
He used a jeep to get to the canyon.
The portal is on the South side of the canyon.
The portal is on the "Plateau" of the North slope.
Strange events happen within a mile of the X.
The portal rocks were just pillars in the 70's,
because the formation collapsed.
There is an old silver mine within a half a mile.
The area has a high concentration of geodes.
Quinn never told anyone else only 5 people
knew and visited the site.

Go to this site follow the directions on how to
get and view the Topos.

nationalmap.gov...

Use your GPS #'s and an old topo to see if there
is a prospect within half a mile.

A little research and preparedness might save
your friends ankles next time.

Southern Arizona is host to 26,000 open pit mines.

Stay safe I really don't wish to see you or your
friends being rescued by Southern Arizona Rescue.

Peace

I do have an old topo NH 12-2 Series V502
1:250,000. 1956 (revised 1969) Nogales

Oro Blanco ghost town, the mine dates
back to the Jesuits. Then I found the
Yellow Jacket mine and did a bit of
research. It sits on a fault, produced
mostly gold but has silver.

So we have a the Fault line, silver ore,
and where do you find geodes?
Andesite was one of our other clue.

Now I started looking for canyons not
traversable by vehicle that can be
entered from the east.

One canyon just south of Watergate
spring. Has the right rock formations on
the ridge. The clue was wind swept rock.

31.532979, - 111.358138

Oh my" Transportation " is a 1976
GMC Sierra Grande K1500
4" lift, 350ci with 4 bolt main
balanced and blueprinted.
Mile Marker hubs with the same
make 4x2 conversion kit. When
I bought it, it was full time 4x4.
(no lockers-yet)

And I wanted a Trials bike but
didn't want to spend that much.
So I bought a 125cc pit bike with
a 110 frame, SE 78 bars, FX gripper
seat, Uni filter, Polished a ported
Mikuni.

My 63 Baja should be ready by
January, its torn down for paint.

Good luck with your hunt

I'm not guessing based on his clues (I did that initially and almost landed on the same spot)... the coordinates are from Ron's first hand friend to me. And yes everything lines up with the story. I will check out your coordinate now so see how close it is. of all the clues I never did follow up on the "mine" hint. I should have, and want to see how that aligns with these locations. Thank you for that diligence

a reply to: hiii_98 I would have to say that "31.532979, - 111.358138 " is not even remotely close. He saw the ufos in the Tumacari Mountain range to the south east of Arivaca.. this location is directly to the south.
