The point of me asking was for peoples opinions. Of course I could do the research but that would most likely be one persons biased view.

I am listening to what everyone is saying. My view can change in a heart beat. That's the kind of person I am. I am not one of those ghost's don't exist for no reason, bigfoot isn't real, hard ass guys. I am simply someone trying to figure out some things. That is all
.

If we can't prove they DON'T exist, how can we prove they do.

For thousands of years people have seen ghosts.

For thousands of years people have seen UFO's.

For thousands of years people have been seeing bigfoot/yeti/sasquatch.

For thousands of years people have believed in God.

Now, most people will automatically reject the first few and accept the last as being true. Yet, there is absolutely no proof that there is a God. But we don't look at people who believe in God as being crazy.

Little children that don't even know what ghosts are talk to them. They've had absolutely no influence from adults telling them ghosts are real yet 3, 4, and 5 year olds talk to imaginary friends and deceased relatives all the time.

I believe that only under certain conditions can ghosts be seen by the average person, but you would have to believe in other dimensions to believe that (though other dimensions are strongly considered to be true by quantum physicists).

Maybe we can't prove they are real because we simply lack the scientific technology to do that. We haven't exactly unlocked all the secrets to technology yet.

There are people who see ghosts everywhere all the time, but you would of course rebut that as saying they are lying or crazy. Some only see them when their energy is strong and some just don't see them at all.

Honestly, why are you trying to convince all of us that they AREN'T real?

Why does it seem to upset others when people believe in ghosts?

Is it hurting you? Does it hinder you from living your life in some way? You may think I'm crazy but it doesn't affect you and I can guarantee you if you met me on the street you would think I was extremely normal. My beliefs in the paranormal, metaphysical don't define who I am and how I interact with the world. They are just simply one more fractal part of me.

I'm not trying to convince you they are real. I am simply answering some questions that you asked for answers to. But why do people feel it necessary to convince believers not to believe?

I also always find it fascinating when people who believe in God, angels, demons and the like automatically dismiss others as loony when someone claims to have seen one of those. Was Moses crazy? How bout Abraham, Jesus, Mary, Joseph? You see where I'm going with this....

Yet you have no proof to back this up. Why do I believe there is no life after death? A little something called science. I don't choose to believe in something just because it makes me feel better.

Do you dream? What if I told you I don't believe that people dream and they are just making it all up because they want to believe that they do? What if I asked you to prove to me that they do.

Science can't prove it. Saying that people go into REM sleep doesn't prove a thing except that at some point in our sleep our brain waves change. Just like people say changes in EMF's don't prove ghosts exist. Only that there are EMF fluctuations in rooms.

But everyone accepts the fact that dreams are real. Why? There's no proof. And there are plenty of people who say they don't dream. Maybe they are the sane ones and we are crazy.

How can you prove life after death? It's just like trying to prove people dream except a heck of a lot harder because how do you ask someone whether or not they've been to the afterlife after they are dead.

You've created a great thread Soulstone. I've read a lot of intriguing and well-thought out responses. You've asked questions which have forced people to question their beliefs, and try to explain why they believe in the unexplainable. You've created debate, and if someone is unable to explain why they have a belief (personal experiences included) their beliefs probably aren't that strong.

Personally, I believe in ghosts. In my life I have had personal experiences which allow me to justify my beliefs, despite a lack of evidence. I don't need to prove anything to anyone else, and if skeptics want to call me crazy that's their choice. There are too many strange things we have yet to fully comprehend for me to rule anything out 100% Sure, science can explain a lot, but it's ludicrous to believe science has explained everything in this world right now. Science is a progressive thing, knowledge continues to grow, and someday it may provide some definitive answers. There was a time when scientists failed to understand matter, but eventually the progress of science allowed new findings and evidence.

The first ghost I ever saw was a dog. So that does happen.

I don't know why you bring God into this as if to prove a point. I don't believe in God. I used to and then I grew up. And please don't quote the Bible as some type of historical account.

Big foot isn't real hard ass guys. Ok now you are just trolling soul stone. We tried to provide our experiences to you, and you sliced us and diced us on every road. Have a nice labor day weekend. And I won't be responding to your threads for quite some time.

I don't think ghosts exist. I will continue to search for the truth, though. Just because I don't think they exist doesn't mean they don't. I was just raising questions and it turned into some type of "Your ignorant", let's be hostile debate. God, the immaturity of some people on this forum. You act like you can believe all this without being questioned. That's what this community was for. Different ways of thinking leading to the truth. Some of you have written your replies with eloquence others simply are becoming hostile with "I believe it and it's true, can't back it up, but it is true. I know because I experienced it through my sensory organs! Which are never wrong! You are ignorant Soulstone." That wasn't what this topic was about. It was helping to answer some questions. I WANT to believe, that doesn't mean I will like so much of the main stream do.

Wow, way to distort and take my post out of context. I was saying I am not a hard ass who just doesn't believe in things. And yes, I will have a nice labor day!

Yet you do nothing to back up your statement. You're the one who has trouble understanding what people are saying. You read something the wrong way and think your right.

Now stop coming back and trying to insult me after saying your going to leave. Troll.

I've been open minded this entire time. I don't know why people are getting so angry. I think everyone is thinking I'm dave420 or something.

Here was the jist of what's going on. To clarify.

1. I create a topic raising some questions. I state it's an abrupt title to get people's attention. They were just some points I made. I just say I need help answering these questions before I can take the phenomena to it's upmost seriousness.

2. Dave comes in, congratulating me.

3. Dave gets in a bar fight with 20 different people.

4. People start getting pissed at me after saying that what people are seeing might not be ghosts but something else such as Tulpas.

5. People get more pissed and seem to think I'm dave420. Who is from what I understand some skeptic from Germany who just happened to like some of my posts.

ghosts don't exist. just think, what exactly is a ghost? is it your soul?. if thats the case than ghosts don't exist because as much as you would like to believe, people don't have souls. they just believe in ghosts and spirits to give them hope that there is an afterlife. just as there are no ghosts there is also no afterlife. once your dead your dead for good. aliens i do believe might exist because as gigantic as the universe is i seriously doubt we are alone. we don't have the technology so far to travel as far into space s we would like to, but once we do have that technology i think we will start discovering more planets such as earth that can support life. aliens might exist but ghosts sure as hell don't .

"Ask to see and maybe you will"

I don't buy into that very much.. Example. I don't believe in Reptilians.. but if I researched them daily, positive research acclaiming their existence, and if I told myself "I will see Reptilians. I will believe in Reptilians" every day, yeah I probably would start to believe in them! It doesn't mean they're real, however. Big difference between convincing yourself and believing through research by evidence.

that's just my opinion

Now, about ghosts.. I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts, except I do want to. I'm more inclined to believe in them than not. I just have doubts. If a ghost appeared in front of me, I wouldn't think of myself as crazy or dreaming.. I would accept that ghosts do exist! So I'm a non-believer with hope, I guess.
even though that hope would mean I do have some belief and I'm rambling now.

And there are many reportings of animal ghosts
There was one Scottish terrier who was owned by a police man, many many years ago. His owner died when the dog was pretty old, and the dog followed the body to the funeral and even sat through the funeral. He then laid on his owner's grave until night time and went home. Even after the dog died, some people still claim to see him all the time wandering the cemetary and laying on his owner's grave. The townspeople built a statue of the dog, for his unwavering loyalty, even after death.
