Bell Labs' decision to abandon basic physics research marks the end of a brilliant chapter for the iconic institution. The lab will now focus on areas such as networking, high-speed electronics, wireless, nanotechnology and software.

Wow, The organization that has brought humanity some of the greatest breakthru's in technology is kicking physics to curb. Six Nobel prizes since 1938 and observe the direction they are taking. I would imagine that they know a thing or two.. perhaps more than they given credit for, but unfortunately due to recent press, Bell Lab's gets a black eye for falsifying scientific data of molecular-state transistor.

This one was a shocker for me, so I thought I would share with my ATS friends.
