This image was taken from the HiRise site. Would it be possible for some of you image pros to take a gander at this. This looks like image tampering to me. It also looks like water but what do I know.

If you look at the context image, you'll see that it's just the eroded side of a crater or gully, and that dark patch at the bottom is a shadow. Flip the image "upside down," and it becomes a lot clearer.

Nay, don't buy it. I tried it already. The lines are very fluid. The lines of the shadow are just too sharp in detail. Thanks for the reply though.

Yes, it looks just like a crater wall. Quite a nice one too.

OP, if you're referring to the cloudy appearance of the bottom of the crater as photo tampering, that's a pretty common artifact in the Mars satellite photo's due to the difference in object heights. The camera is focused by radar measurements I think.
