United Solar Ovonic Corp (USO), which leads in thin silicon solar tch, has been awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin "to develop and deliver solar
cells on polymer substrates." The solar cells are to be used in "Phase 2" of the High Altitude Airship (HAA) program, awarded by the Missile
Defense Agency in September 2003.
Basically, these guys make really nice solar panels. Lockheed wants to use them to put on their Sub-oribit airship so it can draw energy from the
sun.
